The St. Patrick's Day Parade in Dallas marched down Greenville Avenue on March 17th, 2007. More than 100 groups participated in the parade. The Falun Gong contingent was the only Chinese entry in the parade. Practitioners designed a green float with gold lotus flowers on it, bringing the beauty of Falun Dafa to the spectators.

Passing out truth-clarifying materials

Ms. Zhang, a Falun Gong practitioner, told a reporter: “The St. Patrick's Day Parade is one of the biggest parades in Dallas. It started in 1979, and this is its 28th year. It is our second time to participate in this parade. We hope that more people will learn about Falun Gong through the parade.” Ms. Liu added: “Many people accepted our materials. We passed out 5000 flyers.” Many spectators yelled: “We support your belief” during the parade.

A big banner announcing “Falun Dafa” led the group and was followed by the waist drum team. Spectators greeted the practitioners' performances with enthusiasm.

Practitioners decorated their float with colourful lotus flowers. They started decorating at 6 o’clock in the morning. They demonstrated the exercises on the float, and many spectators imitated them. An Asian lady said: “Seeing the Falun Gong practitioners makes me recognise just how precious freedom of belief is.”

Many Chinese people watched the parade. They waved and smiled to practitioners. Some of them took photos of practitioners.
