Taiwan: Award-winning Minghui School Waist Drum Team Performs for the Community

This spring, the Minghui School Waist Drum Team in Taipei was invited by many organisations to perform. The performances were very well received. Many people said that they had never seen a waist drum before, and many people called the Minghui School for more information about Falun Gong. The waist drum team has also won many awards for their performances.

The organisations that have invited the drum team to perform, including the Association of Senior Citizens in Taipei and the Association of Senior Health in Taipei, highly praised the performances. In an e-mail to the Minghui School, the Association of Senior Citizens in Taipei described how much the audience loved the performances by the young practitioners. The organisers said that it was an honour for them to invite Falun Gong practitioners to perform, and they hoped that the waist drum team would perform for them again in the future.

The drum team performed at the anniversary of Sankuang Elementary School in Taipei County in March. There are many young practitioners at Sankuang Elementary School, so the teachers and students know about Falun Gong very well. The principal of the school invited the drum team to perform at the anniversary. Although it was very hot that day, the young practitioners did an excellent job.

Many parents of the students at Sankuang Elementary School know Falun Gong very well too. Once, when a parent learned that a good student practises Falun Gong, he invited the student's parent, who is also a Falun Gong practitioner, to teach his child the Falun Gong exercises. Many students at the school have learned the Falun Gong exercises this way, and the practice has improved their grades and moral standards.

Some teachers at the school saw the great effect of Falun Gong, so they invited practitioners to teach their students the exercises every Thursday morning.

Every Saturday morning, the Minghui School students study the Fa and do the Falun Gong exercises at Sankuang Elementary School. Even the guard at the school likes those young practitioners, for they are very well behaved.

The young practitioners hope that more people will learn about "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" through their waist drum performances.
