Latest Persecution News Regarding Practitioners from Chang'an No. One Factory Area in Chongqing City

1. Practitioner Ms. Wu Huazheng was arrested and has been detained in the Jiangbei District Detention Centre for more than two months. Currently, she is very weak and has symptoms of high blood pressure, tracheitis, and asthma. Because of her arrest, her mother went under tremendous mental shock and died. Ms. Wu's relatives asked the Jiangbei District Police Department and the 610 Office¹ to give Ms. Wu permission to attend the funeral and say goodbye to her mother, but their request was denied.

2. Practitioner Mr. Xiang Shihua was transferred to the Xishanping Labour Camp. For the past few years, Mr. Xiang's whole family has been persecuted severely by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). In 2002, his wife, Ms. Luo Peiping, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for distributing Falun Gong materials. She is currently being detained in the Yongchuan Prison. Their son, Xiang Dong, was sentenced to three years in prison for distributing Falun Gong materials. During his detention in the Banan District Detention Centre, Xiang Dong was persecuted until he was paralysed. Later, he was released on medical parole. After Mr. Xiang Shihua's latest arrest, the police asked around to try to find the location of Xiang Dong and his other relatives, and they planned to arrest them. In order to avoid further persecution, Xiang Dong had to leave home and become homeless. Another practitioner, Mr. Zhu Zhilin, was arrested at the same time as Mr. Xiang Shihua, and he is currently detained in the Jiangbei District Detention Centre.

3. On March 18th, 2007, six police officers from the Dashiba Police Station in Jiangbei District, led by Gui Li (male), broke into practitioner Ms. Yu Qunfang's home to arrest her. However, their attempt failed. The police ordered the local community officials to monitor Ms. Yu closely.
