Three Falun Gong Practitioners in Beijing, Weifang, and Zhuanghe Cities Died as a Result of Persecution

Mr. Fang Shuguo from the Fangzi District, Weifang City, Shandong Province

Practitioner Fang Shuguo from Shangfang Village, Mucun Town, Fangzi District, Weifang City, Shandong Province, came across Falun Dafa in 1997. From that time on, he practised "Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance." Before that, Mr. Fang had many illnesses, and his home was full of bottles of medicine. After practising Falun Dafa, he became healthy and energetic. His sicknesses disappeared. Both his body and mind greatly improved, and his formerly hot temper was replaced with gentleness and kindness. His mind and morality ascended.

After the persecution began in 1999, he persisted in Falun Dafa cultivation and spoke out, saying "Falun Dafa is good." For this, he was persecuted many times.

At around 10:00 p.m. on March 5th, 2003, Mr. Fang was taken away by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) village secretary and four to five policemen. After entering his house, the police turned it inside out in search of Falun Dafa materials. They also beat Fang Shuguo. Later, his relatives demanded his return but were told that he was at the Fangzi District Detention Centre. His relatives were not allowed to see him in the detention centre. They could only leave money and personal items for him. After his term expired, he was taken to Wangcun Forced Labour Camp in Zibo City, and his relatives were still not allowed to see him. They were told they could buy his release. Only after his daughter gave money to the police was Mr. Fang able to go home. At that time, he was very weak due to the persecution. He couldn't even ride a bike without falling down.

The second time Fang Shuguo was detained was in 2004. Officers from the Mucun local police station took him away. They also stole a TV from another practitioner's home. The police did not let Mr. Fang go home to celebrate the Chinese New Year. His absence during this traditional family gathering agonised his family. During his imprisonment, his daughter died.

All the different methods of torture that Mr. Fang was subjected to weakened him. When he finally returned home he had to deal with the grief of losing his daughter. He was in intense mental and physical pain. As a result, he died on May 18th, 2005, at the age of 58.

Ms. Qian Jinlan from Beijing

Ms. Qian Jinlan, 69, was a Falun Dafa practitioner from Beijing. Before becoming a practitioner, she was famous for living on medication. She suffered from high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, leg bone fracture, etc. In order to become healthy, she mistakenly learned several sham qigongs, which only made her more sick. In 1996, she learned about Falun Dafa and began to earnestly cultivate. Her health improved day by day, and her body felt light and healthy. She also helped her younger son to start practising. Thankful for Dafa's kindness and salvation, Mrs. Qian volunteered her house for group study of the Falun Dafa teachings.

After July 20th, 1999, when the persecution began, she walked out to inform people about the true nature of Falun Gong and was persecuted. Her son was also sent to a forced labour camp twice because he validated Dafa. The persecution dealt a hard blow to her spirit, and in turn caused the relapse of her former illnesses. She became paralysed on one side. Officer Li Yong from the Yayun Village local police station went to her home and tried to force her to fingerprint a document promising not to practise Falun Gong exercises nor read Falun Gong books, etc. To escape the police harassment, Ms. Qian drifted from place to place. She died on January 17th, 2007.

A 90-year-old Man in Zhuanghe City, Liaoning Province

Mr. Wang Zhenhe, 90, lived in Wanggoutun, Qiaotun Village, Guangmingshan Town, Zhuanghe City, Liaoning Province. His daughter was sentenced to seven years of imprisonment. Mr. Wang's son was imprisoned in late December 2006. Mr. Wang had to cope with the persecutory acts of the Chinese Communist Party for a long time. He died on January 11th, 2007.

Before practising Falun Dafa, Mr. Wang suffered from many hard-to-cure diseases such as hyperplasia of the prostate, kidney failure, coldness in his legs, skin irritation, etc. He always took medicine and he could hardly take care of himself. For him, death appeared to be a better choice than living. One month after he started to practise Falun Dafa in 1996, he recovered from all his illnesses. Besides being able to take care of himself, he could also do many farm chores. Despite being an old man of 80-some years, he had no problem riding a bike for 40 or 50 kilometres (25-30 miles). He was very happy, and he told everyone he met, "It is Falun Dafa that saved me, enabled me to regain my youth, freed me of illnesses, and made my body light. I have not needed to take a single pill for ten years."

Influenced by him, Mr. Wang's children also started cultivating Falun Dafa. His daughter, Wang Yuying, suffered from cancer before practising, and the doctor determined that she could only live for several more months. But after practising Falun Dafa, she recovered from all her illnesses. Wang's son, Wang Zhonghuan, also suffered from multiple diseases before practising Falun Dafa. After practising, all of his diseases disappeared.

Because Wang Zhenhe, his daughter, and his son-in-law spoke out for Falun Dafa, they were arrested and persecuted.

Mr. Wang's other daughter, Wang Chunying, was taken to Masanjia Forced Labour Camp for appealing for Falun Gong in Beijing. After her release, she was again sentenced to seven years of imprisonment in 2001 because she tried to inform people about the true nature of Falun Gong. She is still imprisoned in Jail City in Liaoning Province. Wang's son-in-law, also a practitioner, was taken way and detained twice as well.

Wang's son, Wang Zhonghuan, was taken away and detained twice. One time, on December 25th, 2006, Wang Zhonghuan stopped by a relative's house on his way to visit his father. He was forcibly taken to a detention centre by the head of the Guangmingshan Town police. Other policemen searched Mr. Wang's relative's house and confiscated his belongings. Wang Zhonghuan was later persecuted in the Dalian City 610 Office¹ brainwashing centre.

Wang Zhenhe suffered many cruel blows. Starting on January 11th, 2007, he constantly called out his children's names for three days and three nights. On January 13th, he passed away.

Even in his last days, the Chinese regime refused to let his children visit their dying father. Their visits were denied on the grounds that they needed to "ensure security" during the Communist Party's "Two Conferences." Just how does this cruel persecution of Falun Gong stack up against the CCP's claims to be "managing the country with law" and ensuring a "harmonious society during the best human rights period?"
