Six-Year-Old Boy Missing After Parents and Other Practitioners Arrested in Yantai City, Shandong Province

On April 17th, 2007, police from Yantai City, Shandong Province unlawfully broke into the homes of and arrested several Falun Dafa practitioners. The main perpetrators who participated in the arrests and torture are: Gao You (male), Zhang Chunjie (male), and Liu Yueguo (male). The main units involved in the persecution include the Xidajie Police Station, Neighbourhood Committee, and the Security Force of Yantai City.

Around 9 a.m. on April 17th, 2007, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Sun Guolan was forcefully carried away from her home by five or six policemen. Ms. Sun left her door unlocked for her son who was coming home. The police barged into her house and dragged her away. After they came out of the building, Ms. Sun was forcefully pushed into a van.

It was in the morning, and many people outside came to see what had happened. Many of them talked among themselves, "Who are those people dressed in black? They seem to be policemen but they were wearing plainclothes and driving a police car."

At around 11 a.m. on April 17th, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Sun Yuhua was cooking at home when police from the Xidajie Police Station broke into her home. They forcefully pushed her into a police car and directly took her to the so-called Xingfu ("happiness") Brainwashing Centre.

Practitioners who were arrested on the same day also included Mr. Yu Haiyou. The police first arrested Mr. Yu Haiyou from his workplace and then arrested his wife, Wang Xuemei, at their home. Subsequently, the policemen sealed their house. Yu Haiyou's six-year old son has been missing since the arrest of his parents. Now, Mr. Yu Haiyou is detained in the "Xingfu" Brainwashing Centre. Ms. Wang Xuemei is possibly detained in Haiyang City.

After Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Miao Shubao was arrested on April 11th, his daughter Miao Chunyan was also detained when she went to see him. Policemen Guan Boqing, Cao Jun, and Gao Xiu from the Xidajie Police Station led one person from the 610 Office¹ of the police department and two others from the Neighbourhood Administration to ransack Miao Shubao's home. All the valuable belongings such as a computer and printer were confiscated. They also confiscated 2000 yuan², which Ms. Miao Chunyan had saved to start a business. Subsequently, the perpetrators ransacked her mother-in-law's house. They also took an 800 yuan certificate given as compensation for early retirement.

The above Falun Dafa practitioners are detained in the "Xingfu" Brainwashing Centre. They were handcuffed, shackled and forced to watch slanderous videos about Falun Dafa. The persecutors also said, "Nobody can leave here until they are "transformed³"."
