Seven-Year-Old Xiao Yu Spends Another Mother's Day without His Mother

"Give back my mother!" This is the cry of seven-year-old Xiao Yu who is a first grade elementary student living in Tangshan City, Hebei Province. He spent another Mother's Day without his mother this year.

Xiao Yu's mother, Ms. Liang Shufen is now 44 years old. She was employed at the Family Life Division in Tangshan City Steel Plant. In December, 2000, when Xiao Yu was only 7 months old, Ms. Liang was detained because she went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong. Zheng Wu (male), also employed at the Family Life Division, attempted to force her to give up her belief by prohibiting her from seeing and nursing her infant son. She was also deprived of sleep. Since Ms. Liang refused to give up Falun Gong, her employer went so far as to send her to a Mental Health Institution in Xiaoshan Area, Tangshan City. She was detained there for four and a half years and subjected to inhumane treatment.

One of the cruel methods used in the persecution of Falun Dafa by the Chinese Communist Party on practitioners who refuse to renounce their belief, is to detain them in mental institutions. Sane, healthy people are locked up in mental hospitals where they are injected with drugs over a long period of time which destroy the central nervous system. Practitioners fall into a sedated state and this can be compared to committing murder under the disguise of treatment.

In June, 2005, Ms. Liang was released and returned home. Xiao Yu was 5 years old at the time. He was raised by his father and grandfather before his mother's return home. Xiao Yu began to know the happiness of a mother's love. He was an intelligent boy and well-behaved.

However, on May 11th, 2007, Ms. Liang went to Cangzhou City by train to visit her brother. On the way, she was taken away by police officers of the Tianjin Railroad for distributing Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution. On May 12th, the police officers from Tianjin City searched her residence. Currently she is detained at Tianjin City Railroad Police Department. Xiao Yu's mother was taken from him once again.

Xiao Yu's grandfather has since passed away. His father injured his leg, causing him to be unable to walk, and he lost his job as a result. Thus, Xiao Yu and his father suffer from both poverty and sickness. They depend on each other for survival. This year Xiao Yu spent another sad Mother's Day without his mother.

Ms. Liang Shufen has not been seen since May 11th, 2007. Her condition is unknown. Xiao Yu misses his mother very much and longs for her return.

We call upon kindhearted people to help stop the vicious persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and rescue Xiao Yu's mother, Ms. Liang Shufen.
