On the morning of April 8, 2002, the day Jiang arrived in Germany, over 400 Falun Gong practitioners from over 20 countries and districts including Germany, UK, France, Sweden, Switzerland, Russia, the Netherlands, Italy, Ireland, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Czechoslovakia, United States, Canada, Japan, Australia, Taiwan and Hong Kong gathered in Alexanderplatz in Berlin and held a large press conference for the public and the media. They called on the international community to take actions to stop the Jiang regime's persecution against Falun Gong practitioners.

German national and local media attended the conference. Mr. Karl Hafen, executive officer for IGFM (International Association for Human Rights) delivered a speech condemning Jiang's persecution against Falun Gong practitioners and trampling of basic human rights.

Ms. Zhizhen Dai, an Australia Falun Gong practitioner, talked about her husband, who had been tortured to death. In a voice choked with tears, she demanded an end to the persecution of Falun Gong.

A German practitioner read the written speech of Zhao Ming, an Ireland practitioner who was unable to arrive in time to attend the conference. From his own experience of being tortured in China, Zhao Ming exposed the Jiang regime's brutal persecution against Falun Gong practitioners and called for an immediate end to this persecution.

The four Switzerland practitioners, who were abused by Hong Kong police for peacefully appealing, recounted their experience.

After the press conference, media reporters interviewed the practitioners and Mr. Karl Hafen, executive officer for IGFM.
