Ms. Chen Mingchen, 73, from Fujian Province Tortured to the Verge of Death

Seventy-three-year-old Dafa practitioner Ms. Chen Mingchen was arrested and detained in the Nanping City Detention Centre in December 2006. It has been more than seven months since then. The guards forbade her husband from visiting her. She was interrogated from time to time and threatened. They extorted a "confession" and forcibly brainwashed her. She has become mentally traumatised. Her blood pressure has reached 200 and she suffers urinary incontinence. She lost weight from 121 lbs to 77 lbs and is too weak to stand. They forcibly inject drugs into her and make her take medicine. She is on the brink of death.

Ms Chen's husband, who is 76 years old, had several heart attacks and was treated in the hospital multiple times because he could not stand the trauma and was worried about his wife's safety. Nevertheless, the police in Nanping City still refused to release her.

One day in December 2006, a group of police officers (about seven or eight people) from the Yanping District Police Department in Nanping City, led by Huang Jiatian (male), the director of the first section of the Police Department, broke into Ms. Chen Mingchen's home and forcibly arrested her. They searched her home like gangsters and stole her MP3 player and Dafa books.

Ms. Chen Mingchen is a retired official from the Nanping City Police Department. Since she started practising Falun Gong in 1998, not only have all her diseases gone away, but she also appears ten years younger. All witness to this were amazed by the miraculous power of Falun Dafa.

Nanping City Detention Centre still imprisons five Falun Dafa practitioners. Ms. Lin Xiangmei, over 50 years old, who was sent to the Fujian Province Women's Prison, was secretly sentenced to three years in prison (her family members were not notified when she went on trial). She was arrested when she was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution in October 2000 and was given a three and a half-year sentence at that time. Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Xueying, from Jian'ou County and over 40 years old, has become mentally unstable due to torture. It was revealed by an insider that she was injected with an unknown drug. She is often beaten, cursed, and hung up by the guards in the detention centre. The other Dafa practitioners have been detained for more than eight months, and the guards attempt to torture them further.
