On August 4th 2007, Falun Gong practitioners held activities in the downtown area of Lugansk, Ukraine to expose the Chinese Communist regime's eight-year-long brutal persecution of Falun Gong, including its atrocity of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners for profit.
One week prior to the activity, Falun Gong practitioners visited various government agencies and members of Parliament and explained to them the importance of holding the activity to expose the persecution. While their ideas were supported by many members of Parliament, they got permission to go ahead with the activity. After learning the facts about the persecution, local government officials even said that they hoped that Falun Gong practitioners would be able to hold similar activities in the city from time to time.
Practitioners also visited representatives from a local organization dealing with bilateral trade between Ukraine and China. After learning the facts about the persecution, those representatives even asked for copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, a book dedicated to exposing the intrinsically evil nature of the CCP, and other materials about the Chinese Communist regime's genocidal policies.
Practitioners also prepared a briefing on the activity for the local media, and sent the materials to local radio stations, newspapers and other media outlets. One media outlet even directly posted the materials on its website.
When the activity was held, reporters from two TV stations broadcasting in Luhansk State and three local newspapers came to cover the event and interview practitioners. Although one of the reporters had read some slanderous lies against Falun Gong in the Chinese media in the past, after talking with practitioners, he realized the truth and changed his previously negative attitude toward Falun Gong. In addition, he further understood why practitioners expose to the world the Chinese Communist regime's cruel persecution against Falun Gong practitioners who believe in Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance. Finally, he expressed that not only would he write articles regarding the Chinese regime's persecution against Falun Gong for the newspaper he works with, but he would also contribute the articles to other media companies.
After hearing the facts of the persecution, many Lugansk residents signed the petition condemning the Chinese Communist regime's atrocities, and many of them expressed their interest in learning Falun Gong.
