Agents from the Dingxing County 610 Office and Police Department in Hebei Province Force Han Xuelian to Have an Abortion

Since May 28th, 2007, officers from the Dingxing County Police Department National Security Team and from Dingxing County 610 Office¹ have arrested more than 20 Falun Gong practitioners from almost all of the townships in the county. They still arrest, ransack, fine, and torture practitioners. Several practitioners are being held in a detention centre. They were from Yangcun, Beitian, Beihe, Beilian and Zhonglian.

On July 22nd, 2007, these same officers arrested practitioner Ms. Han Xuelian and her three family members from Xijiang Village. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her personal computer, printer, satellite dish, and Dafa books. Later on, Han Xuelian's mother-in-law Ren Jinfeng, her husband Lu Tieqiang, and her sister-in-law Lu Wenjie were also locked up in the detention centre. Han Xuelian's husband is not a practitioner. Han Xuelian was sent to a forced labour camp a week ago and discovered then she was pregnant. The forced labour camp would not accept her and told the police department to release her.

After the police took her back, they did not let her go home. They used deceitful tricks to secretly abort Han Xuelian's baby. Several days later they again sent her, her husband, and her sister-in-law to Shijiazhuang Forced Labour Camp.

At 8:00 p.m. on July 17th, 2007, officers in three police cars broke into the home of practitioner Mr. Wang Defu from Xijiang Village. They arrested his wife Shen Shumei and then found and arrested Wang Defu, who was working in the neighbour's home. Neighbour Xu Jianhua is not a practitioner, but because he spoke up for Wang Defu in front of the police, he was arrested as well.

Prior to beginning Falun Gong practice, Wang Defu was disabled. He had broken six ribs and an arm in an accident and was hospitalised for a long time in Baoding City, Hebei Province. He was unable to take care of himself after he returned home and was also unable to work.

At the recommendation of friends, Wang Defu started practising Falun Dafa in 1996 and miraculously recovered. Since then he has not needed any state subsidies. He even returned the disability benefits he had received, which allowed somebody who needed it to have a chance.

However, agents from the Dingxing County Police Department National Security Team and from the 610 Office arrested this good person and took him to a detention centre, and then proceeded to torture him. They tried to force him to give up his belief in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance." At present Wang Defu is still being incarcerated at the Dingxing Detention Centre and family visits are forbidden.
