I am an employee of the Group Five, District Three of the No. Six Work Area of the Daqing No. 2 Oil Production Crew in Heilongjiang Province. My name is Zhang Binbin and I am 34 years old. Because I suffered from many different illnesses, I tried all kinds of Western and Chinese medicines and also herbal remedies. All to no avail. After I began to practise Falun Dafa in 2001, all my illnesses disappeared, and I no longer suffered physically or mentally. All the medicines I used to take were no longer needed. As a result, I believe firmly in Dafa.
When my life path started to turn from the darkness to the light, Wang Meihua (female), the secretary general of the place where I used to work, ordered all the employees--about one hundred people--to publicly condemn Falun Gong, and everyone had to be screened. Since I wanted to go to Beijing to appeal for Dafa, she removed me from my job at the transformer station to cleaning the public washrooms. In summertime, I had to weed under the burning sun, and in winter, I had to shovel the deep snow from the whole courtyard and also clean the sludge. I also had to clean the two-metre tall glass windows nonstop. And all this with male colleagues. Only at lunchtime could I have several minutes' rest. I was forced to watch programmes that defamed Falun Gong and also read articles that viciously attacked Falun Gong. My bonus was stopped for one year and my salary was cut to half of that of the others. My workload was three to four times more than my female colleagues. Wang Meihua has several times defamed Falun Gong in both small and large meetings. In August 2002, I was transferred to the remote Team Five of District 13 (my current workplace).
With the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) policy of "defaming their reputations, bankrupting them financially, and destroying them physically," I still did not worry about my personal loss or gain. Instead, I cherished human lives more and treated my loved ones and colleagues with more compassion. To my job and family I fulfilled more of my responsibilities and I became more and more healthy. I became more peaceful and treated people more honestly.
On April 28th, 2003, Wang Yinghuan (my current team leader), and Yu Changqing, who is the Team Secretary General, reported me to the police. Without producing any documents, the police came to my workplace and escorted me to the police station. They shoved, cursed, and interrogated me. They searched and found my keys in my backpack. Six to seven of them went to search my home. When they brought me downstairs, they told each other to "be quiet." It was obvious that even they themselves knew that they were doing something very indecent.
They later transferred me to the Chengfeng Public Security Bureau. I was then taken by two policemen named Che Rensheng and Xie Xudong to the Daqing City Detention Centre. I was kept on an iron chair1 for two days. Using the enticement of reducing their jail terms, the police instigated criminal inmates to beat me. Seven to eight held me down at a time. Prison doctor Qi Hong, who was very vicious in torturing Falun Gong practitioners, force-fed me through my nose. When the tubes were taken out, there was blood everywhere in my mouth and nose. A male prisoner kicked my lower back until it was difficult for me to breathe. A dozen prisoners kicked my upper body before they sat on my lower back. They pinched me all over, leaving black and blue bruises everywhere. There were bumps on the top of my head, and my feet were beaten purple. A short male policeman with the last name Li, kicked my knee with his police boots. As a result, my knee was all purple and there was blood on the corners of my mouth and eyes.
Despite my condition, the female team leader still transferred me to Dulitun Detention Centre and detained me there for 21 days. My weight dropped to around 35 kilograms from 65 kilograms. I was reduced to a trembling skeleton and was near death.
This obviously caused my family tremendous anguish and concern. I, who had worked hard and followed the law, was sentenced to three years of forced labour. The forced labour camp later refused me since I did not pass their physical exam and I was taken home.
In April 2005, I went to my neighbors' to visit and give them fruit. I was arrested by a dozen policemen, taken to the public security bureau, and interrogated. The police tried to force me to give my fingerprints. I did not cooperate, so one young male policeman crushed my hands and broke my nails. The police confiscated 5,000 yuan2 from me. Up to now, I have gone five to six times to ask for my money back but to no avail.
From 2005 to 2007, I went to my former job to ask to return to work. I went to Yu Changqing, to Zhang Wei, to Luo Ping, to Chen Peishan, and others, but they all said that since I had not finished my forced labor camp term, I was not allowed to go back to work. During this time, I also worked for half a month, but not a single penny was paid to me. They tried to shirk their responsibility by asking me to go see the public security department. The public security department claimed that since I had returned home, my job and salary were not within their jurisdiction. I went to look for Wang Yubin, who told me that I should talk to the No. Two Factory. I spent two to three hundred yuan for the transport, but my job and salary problems still were not resolved.
In April 2007, when my forced labour camp "term" came to the end, I went back to ask for my job back and got the same reply as before. For the past five years, from May 2003 until today, I have not received any pay and I have no income at all.
