My name is Li Linghui. I'm 12 years old and a middle school student. I live in Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province. My father, Mr. Li Taiwen, is an outstanding middle school teacher, of the Sixth Middle School, of Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province. My mother, Ms. Gong Lingling, is an engineer. I used to have a happy and peaceful family life. My father and mother persisted in practising Falun Gong after the persecution began, not wanting to give up their faith in Truth-Compassion-Tolerance. Because of this, the police showed up one day and smashed the main house gate, and arrested my father and mother on December 25th, 2007. I witnessed this persecution with my own eyes and I now make it public to the world. All I am asking is the release of my father, Mr. Li Taiwen, and my mother, Ms. Gong Lingling.
On December 25th, 2007, at 1 a.m., I was woken up by the sound of pounding on the door. I got up and, saw my father standing by the front door, asking the person outside: "Who is knocking so loudly on the door?" The person outside of the door said, "I'm from the police department. Open the gate for me immediately." My father replied: "Its very late at night, and you are making such a loud ruckus that is disturbing all the neighbours. Why aren't you being reasonable?" After that I heard a loud voice say, "Mr. Li, I am the deputy principal of the Sixth Middle School, I have some matters to discuss with you." My father said, "Principal, if you have something you want to talk to me about, we should discuss it tomorrow." Right after he said this, I heard a very loud "bang", this was the front door being smashed, and then at least 10 people stormed in, including; the principal and deputy secretary of my father's school, officials from the Bureau of Education, and uniformed police from the Police Department of Xiashan District, Zhanjiang City.
I tried to get a clear look at what was happening. I saw that my father had been pushed down to the ground by two policemen, and both of his hands were tied behind his back. Then, with another loud "bang", the door of my room was smashed and two policemen rushed in. They grabbed my mother by her shoulders and dragged her out of the living room. I was frightened and curled up into a ball. By the time I had calmed down, my father and mother had already been taken away. They looted everything in my home that's worth some money: cash, a computer, a printer, five mobile phones, Suzuki motorcycle, electric-powered car, and satellite TV reception equipment. The looting continued until 4 a. m., then the police left. I was so traumatised that I couldn't utter a word. I didn't recover until the second day, and then I cried very hard.
At present, my father is imprisoned at the Xiashan Detention Centre of Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province. My mother is imprisoned at the Potou Detention Centre of Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province. At such a young age I have been separated from my parents. Because the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecuted my father and mother for such a long time, my grandfather, who is over 90 years old, became very depressed. He eventually got a very serious disease. I am afraid to tell him about this matter because I'm afraid that he won't be able to withstand such terrible news. I really don't know how I can face my grandfather in the future, or how I can go on.
I urgently appeal to all levels of government, all human rights associations, and media of countries that respect human rights. Please stretch out your helping hand of justice, pay attention to this matter, and stop this persecution against the belief in Truth-Compassion-Forbearance.
Father and mother, come back quickly! I need you! Grandfather needs you!
