FRANKFURT—The Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular played the first of three shows at Frankfurt’s Century Hall (Jahrhunderthalle) last Saturday, enchanting audience members with its portrayal of Chinese culture.

“The drummers — their rhythm was amazing,” added Tanja.
“I loved the colours,” said Lars, an engineer. “The water scene [Water Nymphs] was the most beautiful, as were the mountains with the rainbow.”
Lars said the Spectacular brought Chinese culture closer to him. “I’d never learned about Chinese culture before, it’s so far away.”
“The hosts were very interesting … It was particularly interesting to see a show without Germans in the cast,” he added.
They have three children and said they’d heard many interesting stories about China from Tanja’s mother who spent a month there.
