The persecution of practitioners is constantly being exposed through various channels. Ms. Huang Yaoying, a practitioner from Gaozhou City, Guangdong Province, died as a result of persecution in the Chengnan Police Station of Gaozhou City in 2000. Government officials claimed that the reason for Ms. Huang death was unknown, but recently it was disclosed that Ms. Huang Yaoying had most likely died as a result of police brutality.
One of the doctors who performed the autopsy on Ms. Huang Yaoying's body stated that her body was still bleeding at the time. Ms. Huang Yaoying was pronounced dead and sent for an autopsy, but she may have still been alive.
After the persecution started in July 1999, it quickly reached Gaozhou City, Guangdong Province. Ms. Huang Yaoying was nearly 70 years old at the time. After she began practising Falun Gong, she used "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" as the guidelines for her actions. Everyone who knew her was surprised about her good health. After the persecution started, she overcame many difficulties and went to Beijing to appeal to the government to stop the persecution of Falun Gong. As a result, Ms. Huang Yaoying was arrested and detained for fifteen days.
At the conclusion of those fifteen days, officers from the Chengnan Police Station took Ms. Huang from the detention centre to the police station, and refused to release her. They attempted to extort 3,000 yuan1 from her.
On March 25th, 2000, the second day after Ms. Huang Yaoying was brought to the Chengnan Police Station, her family was informed of her death. When her family and some practitioners arrived at the police station, they found her body on a sofa with her hands cuffed to it. A practitioner touched her hand and it was still warm. Since the officials at the police station didn't allow anyone to examine her body, it could not be determined definitively if she had suffered from torture immediately before her death.
An insider revealed that Ms. Huang Yaoying was hung up with handcuffs and had likely been beaten or tortured until she lost consciousness. The room and corridor were stained with blood. The police officer who tortured Ms. Huang was from Huazhou City, Guangdong Province. After the incident, he was transferred out of the Chengnan Police Station. Since this incident, no information about this case has been released.
