On March 18th, 2008, Lu Jinyong and two other police officers from the Zuoshan Street Police Station in Xiashan District, Weifang City, Shandong Province, arrived at practitioner Ms. Yan Meifeng's home. The officers did not follow any legal procedures to search Ms. Yan's home. They dragged her out and forced her into the police vehicle without letting her put her shoes on.
The officers handcuffed Ms. Yan to a metal chair, and twisted her arms behind the back of the chair. Electricity was applied to both of her ankles. A hat made out of paper was thrown over her head to block her view. The officers then started punching and kicking her. Many people beat her for a long time, and she could not tell how many people there were. She suffered severe head trauma from the noise during the beating. They also poked Ms. Yan in the ribs and stepped heavily on the handcuffs which cut into her wrists. After hours of torture, Ms. Yan was not able to raise her arms or legs.
A young man was especially vicious. He hit Ms. Yan's legs with several fully charged electric batons. When her legs started to bleed, he threatened Ms. Yan to not make a sound by applying electric shocks to her mouth, feet, and back. Ms. Yan's wrists became severely bruised and swollen.
The officers even twisted Ms. Yan's body and nipples, while cursing Falun Gong. Ms. Yan's handcuffs were not removed until the next morning when she went to the toilet. Her entire body ached so much that she could hardly keep her balance. Ms. Yan Meifeng walked out of the police station that afternoon.
The police station forced Ms. Yan's family to pay 3,750 yuan1 without giving them a receipt. They have also secretly ordered people to follow Ms. Yan.
