On May 6th, 2008, Chinese President Hu Jintao visited Japan. Local practitioners held activities in front of the National Diet and Chinese Embassy to call for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong, and to bring its primary perpetrators, Jiang Zemin, Luo Gan, Liu Jing, and Zhou Yongkang, to justice.

As usual, practitioners quietly unfolded their banners, did the exercises, and sent forth righteous thoughts. A representative of Falun Dafa Association, Lu Min, explained that the persecution of Falun Gong was launched by Jiang Zemin in 1999 and was still going on. Their presence was a call for an end to the brutal violations of human rights. According to statistics on the Minghui website (Chinese Falun Gong website), more than 3100 Falun Gong practitioners have died thus far from the persecution. The shocking crime of harvesting organs from living practitioners has been publicised the past few years. Practitioners took the opportunity of Hu's visit to Japan to call for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong, to ask that the chief perpetrators be brought to justice, and to call on human rights organisations, the Japanese government and all governments, media, and society to condemn the persecution and help stop it.
