Falun Gong practitioner Ms. He Xianggu from Changsha City is a nurse at the Hunan Province Women and Children Health Centre. On the evening of April 23rd, 2008, she was arrested at her home by police from the Wujialing Police Station in Changsha City. Her home was also searched. Then she was detained in the Changsha City Detention Centre. It was the eighth time she was arrested.
By May 10th , 2008, she had been on a hunger strike for 17 days. On that day, after being forcibly injected with an unknown drug (suspected to be used to temporarily increase physical energy and allow her to pass the physical check-up before admission to a labour camp), she was detained in the Baimalong Forced Labour Camp in Zhuzhou City. It is the fourth time she has been detained in a labour camp.
Currently, He Xianggu is still on a hunger strike to resist the persecution in the labour camp. She is extremely weak. Her family has not been allowed to visit her.

Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Gong in July 1999, He Xianggu has been detained in mental hospitals twice and in forced labour camps four times. The CCP officials of the Hunan Province Women and Children Health Centre have been participating in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners all along.
