Ms. Lang Fengxian, in her 60s, lived in the Gaojiayuan Neighbourhood in Chaoyang District, Beijing. She used to have breast cancer, but she recovered after she started practising Falun Dafa in 1996. After July 20th, 1999, she firmly held onto her faith in "Truthfulness-Compassion- Forbearance," was sentenced to forced labour by 610 Office1 agents, and her old sickness recurred. She was bailed out for medical parole.

Upon returned home, agents of the Party Jiuxianqiao Community (upper level of Gaojiayuan Neighbourhood), the 610 Office, and Gaojiayuan Neighbourhood 610 Office, and officers of Jiuxianqiao Police Station often harassed her by going to her home. They arrested her at the beginning of 2007, but the authorities with the Changying Detention Centre in Chaoyang District rejected her because she failed the physical exam. She was released and allowed to go home.

From January to May 2008, Ms. Lang was arrested three times in only four months, but each time she was released due to her physical condition. She died in the middle of June 2008 during a time when local 610 Office agents were constantly harassing her at home.

There has been news of another death in Beijing. Ms. Kang (given name unknown), 72, began cultivating Falun Gong in 1993. She lived in Yuzhongxili Community in Beijing. She was arrested on May 20th, 2008, while handing out flyers. Officers from Huayuan Street Police Station ransacked her home immediately. They tortured her at the station and she suffered a stroke. She died on May 29th, 2008. Ms. Kang had been very healthy during her 15 years of cultivation.

Note

1. "The 610 office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.
