French Parliament.
Roland Ena.
Member of Parliament Meurthe-et-Moselle,
Aid to the Mayor of Nancy,
Former minister.
2nd of June 2008 Nancy.
Written Statement.
To Madam Secretary of State in charge of Foreign Affairs and human rights.
M. Roland Ena wishes to draw attention to Falun Gong practitioners’ living conditions.
Falun Gong is a healthy cultivation practice based on exercises and meditation guided by the principles of “Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance”, typical of Chinese culture. Falun Gong practitioners only wish to exercise their rights to freedom of belief, speech and association. They are disappointed at the systematic persecution that the Chinese authorities have been subjecting them to since 1999. Therefore, Roland Ena inquires from Madam Secretary of State as to what measures the French government will take to help these Falun Gong adherents to obtain freedom as a group and as individuals.
