Falun Gong Practitioners From Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province Arrested In Early July

On the morning of July 2nd, 2008, officials from the 610 Office1 of Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province and the local police department ordered the police of all districts to conduct another round of arrests of Falun Gong practitioners. Fourteen practitioners were arrested.

It has been clearly investigated and proven that Linghe District Police Department commanded officials of the Ling'an Police Station and Longjiang Police Station to ransack the homes of practitioners. Ten practitioners were arrested.

The officials of Taihe District Police Department commanded those of the Daughter River Police Station and other police stations to ransack the homes of practitioners. Four practitioners were arrested.

Wang Suqing and Shao Haibo were arrested at home around six o'clock in the morning. Sun Jihong, Man Guirong and Tang Xiurong were arrested near a supermarket around nine o'clock in the morning. Witnesses saw the police beat these three weak ladies heavily, kick them severely and slap them violently on the ears.

Chen Guixia was arrested by the police from Longjiang Police Station downstairs in her home when she started out to work around seven o'clock in the morning. The police ransacked her home and stole a laptop valued at 4,000 yuan2 and several U-disks. Liu Xuezhi was arrested at home by the police from Longjiang Police Station. The police ransacked his home and stole 40 DVDs. That morning the police from Ling'an Police Station also ransacked a a site producing Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution. They stole an electric paper cutter, a hand-operated gold stamping machine, four laser printers (two of which are not functioning), three colour inkjet printers, an LCD-screened computer, printer supplies valued 30,000 yuan, a DVD copy machine, DVDs, a suitcase for clothes, hardware and about 7,000 yuan in cash.

Here are some of the officials who participated in this round of arrests : Wang Hui, from the Jinzhou City Police Station; Liu Xiaogang, Director of Linghe District Police Department; Li Yinting, Director of Taihe Police Department; Dong Huanwei, superintendent of the Ling'an Police Station; Liu Yuzhu, superintendent of the Longjiang Police Station; Li Ming, policeman from the Longjiang Police Station, Zhang Jiuyi, superintendent of the Daughter River Police Station.

It was also said that Huang Cheng, a Falun Gong practitioner from the Taihe District, was tortured during interrogation after he was arrested on Feb. 25th. The police from the Taihe District tied him to an iron chair3 and beat and shocked him with electric batons for 17 hours. Huang Cheng's face was deformed. He couldn't even walk for several months. He cannot lift up one of his arms to carry things. Wang Hui, from the Jinzhou City Police Department, also participated in the persecution of Huang Cheng. Zhang Haiquan from the Jinzhou City Police Station also participated in arresting practitioners on Feb. 25th. He went to Laizhou City, Shandong Province in person to arrest Practitioner Qu Chengye, who is now detained in the No. 1 Detention Centre of Jinzhou City.

1. "The 610 office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.

2. "Yuan" is the Chinese currency; 500 yuan is equal to the average monthly income of an urban worker in China.
