Mr. Chen Yunchuan, 70, is a practitioner from Canfangying Village, Huailai County, Hebei Province. All six members of his family are practitioners, and four of them have died as a result of the persecution. Recently, Mr. Chen was arrested again at his home.
In mid-July, 2008, officers from the Beixindian Township Police Station and the State Security Division of Huailai County broke into Mr. Chen's home. He was asked if he still practised Falun Gong and he answered, "Yes!" The police then tried to force him to go with them but he refused. He was then forcibly pulled into a police car. Mr. Chen's whereabouts are unknown.
During the past nine years that Falun Gong has been persecuted, Mr. Chen's home has been ransacked many times and his family members have been subjected to repeated arrests and brutal torture. Three of his four children have died due to the persecution. The oldest son, Mr. Chen Aizhong, was sentenced to three years of forced labour and died at the Hehuakeng Forced Labour Camp in Tangshan City on September 20th, 2001. The youngest daughter, Ms. Chen Hongping, was sentenced to forced labour after both of her legs were broken during a beating. She died at the Gaoyang Forced Labour Camp on March 5th, 2003. The youngest son, Mr. Chen Aili, was tortured to the verge of death at the Jidong Prison in Fengnan County, Tangshan City. He passed away on November 5th, 2004. The elderly couple, Mr. Chen and his wife, Ms. Wang Liangrong, had to leave their home for one and a half years to avoid being persecuted. Ms. Wang died on August 4th, 2008, while they were were living in exile. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials in Hebei Province have arrested Falun Gong practitioners with a vengeance in the name of "Safeguarding the Olympics." At around 10 p.m. on July 10th, 2008, the police from the State Security Division of Huailai County and the Shacheng Police Station arrested Ms. Zhu Xiuqing at her home. The police confiscated a computer, a printer and other personal belongings. At around 10 p.m. on July 6th, 2008, the police from the State Security Division of Huailai County and the Tumudian Police Station arrested Mr. Ni Jingxin and Ms. Xu Yan at their home in Bawangzhuang Village. A computer and a printer were confiscated.
