Switzerland: More and More People Have Come to Understand the Truth

On August 23rd 2008, Falun Gong practitioners in Berne set up a stand exposing the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong. Many kind Swiss people saw the photos and asked for related materials and even signed their names in support of Falun Gong. Also after some people realised the extraordinary healing effects of Falun Gong, asked about learning the practice. Of course there were also many Swiss people who had many questions and after listening to practitioners' explanations, in the end understood the truth.

At noon, a middle aged woman was looking in front of the stand, and said to a practitioner, “I have been to China, and saw that in China there are many temples and also many churches and that there are many people in them and I didn’t see this kind of persecution that you are talking about. I felt that people in China had freedom of belief.”

This practitioner explained to her, “In recent years China has certainly constructed many temples and churches and there are indeed many people in them. But in history of China, temples were a place where monks practice cultivation and where everyday people paid respect to Buddhas and were not places for group sight seeing and profit making. However now in those places there are no people who truly believe in Buddha and there are no cultivators, and moreover have become places where the government and so called monks make profit and money. The Chinese churches are all controlled by the CCP; the Church people must first obey the communist leaders and afterwards place their faith in God. In China, the bishop of Catholicism is not appointed by the Vatican, but is appointed by the CCP. In China there are people who indeed truly believe in Christianity, because of not wanting to be controlled by the CCP, they have formed family churches. But during these years they have continuously been persecuted by the CCP, many have been arrested, and have been thrown in prison. Also there is this lengthened nine year brutal persecution of Falun Gong. The practitioners of Falun Gong who can be verified as having being persecuted to death amount to at least more than three thousand, whereas the real number is not limited to this. Over 100,000 Falun Gong practitioners have been illegally thrown into prison. How could one say that China has freedom of belief?”

Then that woman asked, “But during this Olympics when many reporters went to China couldn’t they investigate about this?”

The practitioner said, “When the CCP has persecuted those with faith, it has always been done secretly and even most of Chinese people don’t know about it. How would China let foreign reporters investigate about these things?”

That woman stopped for a while and then asked, “If you secretly practised, wouldn’t the CCP not persecute you?”

The practitioner answered, “Practising the exercises in public is our right, we haven’t done anything to be ashamed of and why can’t we practice publicly? Furthermore this persecution has taken place, so we practitioners abroad even more so can’t just hide at home and practise. Because in China so many people have been persecuted by the CCP, we have a responsibility to stand up and speak for them, to tell the truth to the people, and stop the persecution by the CCP.”

“After doing this like that, has the Chinese government changed?” she asked further.

“At present they still have not changed. However more and more people in China and abroad have come to know the truth of Falun Gong being persecuted, many people are supporting us and demanding and end to the persecution. We believe that if we have continued efforts, all will change.”

After hearing Falun Gong practitioners kindly and patiently explaining to her, this woman happily said “Thank you very much for speaking so much to me, wish you good luck, and wish you success!”
