Around 10 p.m. on July 29th, 2008, party secretary Yan Hebao of Yin'gezhuang Village led more than ten people from the Zunhua City 610 Office1, the Xindianzi Town Government and the Xindianzi Police Station to break into the home of Ms. Cheng Yanshuang, a Falun Gong practitioner in Yin'gezhuang Village. They pried open the gate to her yard and the door to her house and then ransacked the whole house. At that time, Ms. Cheng's husband and son were not at home. The police took away Ms. Cheng, her four-year-old daughter, 1000 yuan2 in cash and a new mobile phone worth 900 yuan.
The mother and daughter were sent to a brainwashing class. On the morning of July 30th, Ms. Cheng Yanshuang and her daughter managed to walk away from the brainwashing class. They were forced to become homeless and destitute in order to avoid being arrested at home again. The personnel of Xindianzi Town Government went to the home of Ms. Cheng again and asked her husband for her whereabouts. Her husband said: "I came home at midnight last night. You have taken them away and now you ask me where they are. You are so unreasonable."
Ms. Cheng Yanshuang, 39 years old, lives in Ying'ezhuang Village, Xindianzi Town, Zunhua City, Hebei Province. In 1998, she started to practise Falun Gong. Since 1999, she went to Beijing twice to appeal for Falun Gong. The first time was October 1999. She was arrested and detained in the Zunhua City Detention Centre. She was not released until the end of 1999. The second time was October 2000. In November 2000, the Zunhua City 610 Office sent her to the Kaiping Forced Labour Camp for three-years' forced labour. On the Chinese New Year Eve of 2002, she was released.
On August 13th, 2005, personnel from the Zunhua City 610 Office and the Xindianzi Town Government broke into the home of Ms. Cheng. They took away leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong and a photocopy machine. At that time, Ms. Cheng had been pregnant for eight months. They forcibly carried her to a vehicle and drove to the Xindianzi Police Station. The police forced her to press her finger print on the list of materials that were taken away from her home and tried to extort 3000 yuan from her. She was released after paying 800 yuan.
Now, Ms. Cheng and her daughter have been forced to become homeless. Her husband cannot settle down to work. Party secretary Yan Hebao is directly involved in the persecution of Ms. Cheng Yanshuang. In 2005, it was he and director Li Yanchun of the village women's committee who reported her to the police.
