The "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" International Art Exhibition opened in Shili Taipei City. The uplifting nature of the more than 50 world-class paintings attracted the attention not only of art lovers but also of casual visitors.
Mr. Huang Kunzhong, director of National Martial Arts Council, said he could sense the inspiring nature of the work |
While visiting the exhibition, Mr. Huang Kunzhong, director of National Martial Arts Council, said, "No matter what kind of art it is, it must have deep meaning. Traditional martial arts promote virtue. It is also an aspect of culture. Culture cannot be false. One basic requirement for art is 'Truth.' Only what is true can move people." He said the painters exhibited in the "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" International Art Exhibition had a very good balance in pursuing "Truth" and "Beauty," and displayed the mindset of peace and kindness very well. He said these virtues are very important in elevating the standard of today's morality.
"One should not persecute another for one's own interest," Mr. Huang said. He was upset when he saw the piece that portrayed the Chinese Communist Party persecution of Falun Gong. He said traditional martial arts forbids violence. "Human beings need to help to each other instead of hurting each other.
He studied the painting "Facing the Evil" for a long time. He said, "Without concern for her own safety, the young Falun Gong practitioner opened her arms to protect another practitioner from being beaten. Such unselfishness and courage is in this practitioner's heart! Such a reflection of the potential glory of human nature!"
Director Lin Xiaohe, who is serving in the police department, praised the vividness of the paintings. She said she could sense the message each painter wanted to convey.
Ms. Lin talked about the painting entitled, "Bailed Out for Medical Conditions." "The old lady was so desperate at losing her son. Her eyes reflected such pain and such truth."
