Nanjing Military Region Retired Elderly Veteran Arrested Again

On June 28th, 2008, Ms. Luo Zuhua was arrested for explaining the truth about Falun Gong in public. Ms. Luo is retired from the No. 2 Retired Military Officers' Sanatorium of the Nanjing Military Region in the Baixia District. After arresting Ms. Luo, the local police station officials in Guiyangzhong notified the authorities at the Huaxi Retired Military Officers' Sanatorium of the Guizhou Military Region to take her home and put her under house arrest. Song Mingliang and Lei Min, the heads of the Huaxi Retired Military Officers' Sanatorium, locked Ms. Luo in her home with a huge lock. However, she still managed to leave her residence. The authorities at the Guizhou Military District were infuriated when they found out that she had left. Even the authorities from the Central Military Commission of China were informed. The deputy head of the commission, Xu Caihou, issued a warrant to catch Ms. Luo, alive or dead. They used their most advanced equipment to search every single corner of Guiyang City for her. For two months they have gone to her relatives' residences repeatedly to search for her.

On September 2nd, after calling her husband who was hospitalized in the #44 Hospital, Ms. Luo was quickly arrested and detained in the Huaxi Retired Military Officers' Sanatorium, where six soldiers took turns watching her around the clock. She was separated from her 80-year-old husband. (It was said that the authorities at the Guizhou Military Region had also interrogated her husband.) The Communist regime officials ordered the three-metre high wall of her courtyard raised to 4.6 metres. They have also installed a detection device on this wall.

Ms. Luo Zuhua is 76 years old and lives in the Huaxi Retired Military Officers' Sanatorium in Guizhou City. After she started to practise Falun Gong in 1993, all her illnesses were healed. Because she remained steadfast in her cultivation, she was sentenced to two years of forced labour in 2001. After that, she was kept against her will in the so-called "Legal System Training Centre" in Guizhou (the Lannigou Brainwashing Centre). She was detained there for another two years. Back in about December 2007, while telling college students at Guizhou University the truth about Falun Gong, she was accosted by a campus store employee, who took her to the campus security office. Huaxi 610 Office¹ personnel then took her home and searched her house. During that time, she managed to escape and became destitute and homeless.

Her 80-year-old husband is now at home by himself.
