The Divine Performing Arts (DPA) 2009 Global Tour will start soon. Ticket sales in Taiwan started on December 1st, 2008, and within five days, nearly 20,000 tickets were sold. The DPA performances in Taiwan will increase from 25 in 2008 to 37 in 2009, with tours in Tainan, Taipei, Taichung, Chiayi, Kaohsiung, and Hsinchu. The total number of seats available is 90,000. So far, more people are buying high-end tickets than last year. Host Chang Rui-lan said, "When DPA came to Taiwan initially, people did not know about it and bought medium-priced tickets. After two years of shows, DPA is now well-known in Taiwan."
Renowned photographer: 'You will regret it for the rest of your life if you miss it.'
Li Sung-Mao, whose teacher is Liang Jingshan, is a renowned black-and-white photographer in Taiwan as well as in mainland China. On March 16th, 2008, Li Sung-Mao and his wife attended the fourth performance of the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular in Taipei. He said, "Each and every number is fantastic. I'm so fascinated that I did not want to leave my seat. I am so lucky to have come!"
Just the name--"Divine Performing Arts" - is awesome, in Mr. Li's opinion. "The performers' movements, their expressions, the entire stage, and the exquisite costumes are all impeccable - it is truly a divine performance. Such a high standard performance should be promoted extensively. It manifested the real essence of Chinese culture. The director behind-the-scenes is really great!"
"People cannot help but be moved by such a good performance. I will be happy to tell others about it, as such a good performance is worth recommending and promoting."
Watching the Spectacular is a spiritual investment
Ms. Huang Li-hsue, wife of a Tainan Yucheng Automobile Inc. executive, watched the DPA show in February 2008. She said it was beautiful beyond the human world. This time she bought ten high-end tickets to invite her family and others to watch. She also donated two tickets to art students to let them have a chance to watch the world-class show.
The financial tsunami is affecting the whole world. Ms. Huang has her own understanding of the situation. She stated, "This is a warning from heaven. We need to think it over. Actually, however many assets one has can turn to nothing overnight. Material possessions cannot bring happiness. A spiritual investment is better than trying accumulate more assets."
Associate Professor: "This is a moving performance. Any program or art activity that can touch people this way is outstanding."
Tseng Guang-hua, Associate Professor of the Marketing Management Institute at National Chung Cheng University, said after watching the show, "Even now my heart cannot calm down. This was a moving performance. Any program or art activity that can touch people this way is outstanding."
Mr. Tseng said, "The program not only moves people, but contains deep inner connotations. In the performance, there is very serene part and also a very active part. In the serenity, you can hear the wind, rain, humanity and divine beings. In the active part, you get the sense of a torrent running, such as in 'The Loyalty of Yue Fei' and 'Resounding Drums'."
Tickets selling quickly in Taiwan
From March 13th to 17th, 2009, DPA will stage seven performances in Kaohsiung. Ms. Su, who is in charge of ticket sales, said, "Many people are buying tickets due to the fame of DPA. Some people missed the show last time.
"The DPA had five shows in Kaohsiung in March this year. The performance impressed artists and VIPs in politics, business and artistic enterprises. Those who watched the show agreed that DPA is the pride of the Chinese people around the world.
"The Pingdong Cultural Bureau decided to buy 60 tickets and let the volunteers who promote the arts enjoy the Spectacular. One township leader decided to buy 200 tickets to reward excellent teachers and students in three schools with tickets to the show. He emphasised, 'The DPA teaches the traditional values of Chinese culture. Parents should encourage their children to watch the show. It can purify people's minds completely.'"
