On the morning of December 12th, 2008, Falun Gong practitioners in Fukuoka City delivered an open letter to the Chinese Consulate. The letter was addressed to Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao and demanded that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) immediately stop the persecution of Falun Gong.
Wen Jiabao was scheduled to attend the summit of China, Japan, and Korea in Fukuoka City. Local Falun Gong practitioners decided to send an open letter to him through the Chinese Consulate. The practitioners expressed their intention to the Consulate staff via telecom. No one from the Consulate answered the door after quite a while. The practitioners dropped the letter into the mailbox.
This took place on Friday and as usual, the practitioners gathered at the Consulate. They held banners worded "Falun Dafa is Great" and "Stop Persecution of Falun Gong," and poster boards exposing the CCP's brutal persecution of Falun Gong. They sent forth righteous thoughts every half hour and protested the CCP's atrocities in the persecution.
This event was authorised by the Japanese police. Many police officers came to look at the posters. Some said, "Falun Gong is the most peaceful group. The practitioners are excellent."
