On December 13th, Falun Gong practitioners organised an information day activity in the centre of the Freiburg in southwest Germany. The information day aimed to let people know more about Falun Gong and raise awareness about the nine years of human rights abuses inflicted on China's Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
Posters were displayed and leaflets were handed out to tell people about the cruel methods the CCP has used in attempts to force Falun Gong practitioners to renounce their beliefs. Many people told the practitioners that they had heard about this issue before, and had already signed their names to support Falun gong practitioners' plight. They asked about the latest news from China and whether the situation had improved but unfortunately they were disappointed to hear that it hasn't.
Although they had heard about the persecution before a lot of people were shocked to find out about the CCP's harvesting of organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. People were keen to sign their names and cal for an end to these atrocities. A lot of people also wanted to learn the Falun Gong exercises and asked for details of their nearest classes and where they can download the books.
Many Chinese people came over to find out more – in China it is not so easy to find out the truth about Falun Gong as the media is state-controlled and the internet is blocked. One Chinese lady said she has hated the CCP for a long time and that corruption is making people dislike it more and more. She talked about how the CCP ruin people's property and revealed that her own family's house was even illegally destroyed. After she heard that over 47 million people have quit the CCP and its related organisations, she happily quit.
Other Chinese people also took this chance to quit the CCP. Some Chinese people told practitioners that the CCP had sent some secret agents to the local Student Union and reminded the practitioners to take care.
