United States: Practitioners Showcase Beauty of Falun Dafa at Chinese New Year Parade in San Francisco

On February 7th, practitioners in San Francisco Bay participated in the Chinese New Year Parade in Chinatown to showcase the beauty of Falun Dafa. The parade started at 11 a.m., setting off from Washington Park and going through Chinatown.

Practitioner Mr. Wu said that the practitioners wanted to share the beauty of Falun Dafa and traditional Chinese culture with residents in the Bay Area. "Today, we presented the US West Divine Land Marching Band, Falun Gong Exercise Troupe, a decorated float, Celestial Maidens dancing troupe, Minghui student dancing, and the Lion Dance."

Band members in white and blue uniforms of the Tang Dynasty performed "Falun Dafa is Good" and "Delivering Treasure", while walking practitioners in yellow exercise suits demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises. Moreover, several practitioners demonstrated the exercises on a giant lotus flower float. When the procession passed by, spectators applauded and waved, and many of them took pictures.

Practitioner Ms. Zhou said that she had benefitted both physically and spiritually ever since she started to practise Falun Dafa. Today, she feels sharper and has more wisdom. In past, she had a bad temper and often failed to control herself. Through meditation, she has become very peaceful and patient. She said, "The cultivation of Falun Dafa benefits people and thus I want to share this ancient wisdom with my fellow citizens."

Jennifer from Santa Cruz said that she practised a form of Qigong and she felt very good about Falun Dafa after seeing the practitioners' demonstration. She expressed interest in learning about the practice and wrote down the address of the Falun Dafa website. When asked whether she was aware of the persecution in China, she said yes and that the persecution was wrong.
