Ms. Jiang Guiyun, Ms. Cao Jingyun and Other Practitioners Tortured at Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp in Jilin Province

Ms. Jiang Guiyun suffers heart problems

Ms. Jiang Guiyun, 59, a resident of Dalian City, Liaoning Province, was arrested while visiting her sister in Changchun City, Jilin Province. She was jailed in the First Section, Second Ward of Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp in Changchun City on August 7th, 2008. She remains there and is denied contact with anyone.

As a result, Ms. Jiang suffered a stroke and lost her ability to walk. Guard Liu Shuxia from the First Section, prison doctor Chen, and prison doctor Wu tied Ms. Jiang to a "Dead Person's Bed¹" (http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2004/12/15/55600.html) and injected her with an unknown solution. As a result, Ms. Jiang suffered severe heart pain. At present at the forced labour camp, she continues to be forcibly injected intravenously.

2. Ms. Cao Jingyun lost the ability to take care of herself

Ms. Cao Jingyun, 30, is a resident of Xiaosanjiazi Village, Yilaxi Town, Yongji County, Jilin City, Jilin Province. Ms. Cao was arrested in the middle of July 2008 by Wang Shuxiang, Director of the Yongji County Domestic Security Division, and officers from the Yilaxi Town Police Station. She was first imprisoned at the Yongji County Detention Centre, and then transferred to the Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp at the beginning of August. Guards in the camp subjected her to the "Dead Person's Bed" torture method. As a result of the torture, Ms. Cao developed a severe mental disorder and is unable to take care of herself.

3. Forced labour

Director Wang Limei and associate director Su Guiying of the Fifth Ward in the Heizuizi Women's Forced Labour Camp are using practitioners for labour.

Wang restricts toilet breaks, only allowing practitioners to use the toilet from 9:00 to 9:30 in the morning, and at 2:30 in the afternoon, without exception. Sometimes she forbids toilet breaks for the entire morning.

Su ordered practitioners to paste airline food boxes and cardboard wine boxes. The quota for a practitioner is 500 food boxes or 400 wine boxes a day. If a practitioner cannot complete the quota, her prison term is extended.

Practitioner Ms. Gong Xiuying developed carpel tunnel syndrome. She suffered great pain and wasn't able to work. Wang punched her, kicked her, and threatened to extend her prison term if she didn't meet her quota.

1. "Death Bed" torture: A practitioner is tied to a bed with his hands handcuffed above his head to the bed rails, and his legs tied with thin nylon ropes. The rope is then tightly wrapped around the practitioner's body and the bed, from his legs to his chest. The rope is wrapped so tightly that the practitioner has difficulty breathing and eventually loses consciousness.
