Practitioners' Families Torn Apart

The Chinese Lantern Festival is supposed to be a holiday for families to get together. Because of the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, cultivators who follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, however, many happy families have been torn apart.

Mr. Liu Changyou, who lived in Wenzhuang Village, is retired from the Zunhua Fertilizer Factory. At the factory, he was a very good worker and his abilities were recognized by his managers. At home, he respects his relatives and loves his grandchildren. In his daily life, he is very active, is willing to help others, and is a very nice person. He practises Falun Gong and has derived great improvements, both physically and mentally, from it. Yet, just because he refused to give up his belief, the Chinese Communist Party took him to a forced labour camp. It was a terrible and unimaginable blow to his children. During the Lantern Festival, all of them look forward to reuniting with their father.

Mr. Zhao Jingjun, 38, lived in Qihu Village, Dongjiuzhai County, Zunhua City. Around 12:30 p.m. on July 6th, 2008, Wang Kunyuan from the local 610 Office¹ of the Zunhua City National Guard Squad and a dozen officers from the Dongjiuzhai County Police Station broke into Mr. Zhao's home. They searched the house and arrested Mr. Zhao. One early morning six months later, Mr. Zhao's wife took their four-year-old son by bus to visit her husband. It was a freezing winter day. Mr. Zhao was detained in a squad 50 miles away. His wife hoped they'd be allowed to visit him, but those in charge used all kinds of excuses keep them from seeing him. Eventually, they didn't even allow the wife and son to remain on the grounds any longer. Mr. Zhao's little kids all miss their daddy, and his parents are very worried about their only son.

Ms. Wang Ning, 42, lived in Shengshuiyuan Village, Zunhua City. On May 6th, 2008, the Zunhua City National Guard Squad and the Tiechang Township Police Substation searched her home and arrested her. In the seven months since, her kids have been forced to drop out of school, and her mother, who misses her dearly, cries daily. Though her mother's health is not very good, she still has to take care of her grandchildren. She has suffered a great deal and await her daughter's return everyday.

All kind hearted people, let us uphold justice and call for an end to the persecution and an unconditional release of all the imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners.
