Elementary School Teacher in China TeachesTruthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to Students

I am a teacher and I have to be responsible to my students. To evaluate my students, I use the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I tell them the value of growing up to be a good person; I teach them to memorize poems from Hong Yin(Poems by Falun Gong founder Li Hongzhi). I am so touched by the sound of the children reading the poems aloud.

I was forced to leave the first school that I had taught in. Before I left, I asked my students, "What is Falun Gong?" They answered, "Falun Gong is about Truthfulness- Compassion-Forbearance."

Soon after I began teaching at a second school, my students' academic performance improved; their behaviour also changed for the better. In one instance, Student A said to Student B, "My grandpa has a bad temper. He does not like it when I bring my classmates home." B said, "Why don't you ask him to practise Falun Gong? His bad temper will change." I was so happy when I heard this. Those young people were changing; children are so pure. But soon after, I was again fired and I had to seek employment at a third school.

At the third school, I was hired as a home room teacher. After only a month, my class was ranked the highest in behaviour within the school. During the second term, when I was teaching Fifth Grade, the school honoured me with the "Most Excellent Home room Teacher" award. When other teachers asked me how I achieved it, I told them that Falun Gong is the key to my success in teaching the children.
After six months at my third school, someone complained to the school administrators that I (Yang Hui) practiced Falun Gong and that was the reason why I was fired from my previous teaching assignment. The person demanded that the school had to do something about my belief in Falun Gong, or else he/she would complain to the school board, and the board would then close the school. The school was going to fire me. I realised that I should not stand for this.

Firing their best teacher for believing in Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance is bad for them and for the pupils in the school. So, I called the supervisor of the accuser and told him about what his subordinate had done. At the same time, I told them the truth about Falun Gong and the importance of not committing sins against it. Twenty minutes later, along with the school principal, I was driven back to my school, and was presented with a written apology.

I managed to stay at the school and continued to guide the children. At the same time, I continued to clarify the truth to my colleagues and told them some of the basic laws and principles of Falun Gong.
