Ms. Han Yuheng, 40, is a teacher and Director of Junior Middle School Education, the Institute of Education Sciences, and the Bureau of Education in Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province. In February 2009, she was arrested in Beijing during her business trip for being a Falun Gong practitioner, and she is still in detention.
On February 20th, 2009, Ms. Han and seven colleagues went to Beijing on business. At around 7 p.m., they checked into the Railway Construction Company Hotel. Because the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) government registers practitioners in a nationwide computer system, Ms. Han's residential identification number triggered a warning signal during check-in. The Beijing Domestic Security Section was alerted, and they informed the Yongding Road Police Station in Haidian District, Beijing. At around 1:30 a.m. on February 21st, police ordered a hotel worker to open the door of Ms. Han's room, and they proceeded to search her belongings. They seized Falun Gong related material. They arrested Ms. Han and took her to the Yongding Road Police Station. On the afternoon of the second day, Ms. Han was transferred to the Detention Centre of the Haidian District Police Department.
Ms. Han Yuheng was arrested for practising the Falun Gong exercises in Tiananmen Square in October of 1999. She was first detained in Beijing for a couple of days, and then transferred to the Second Division of the Harbour Police Department in Qinhuangdao City, and then to the Qinhuangdao City First Detention Centre for a month. After that, she was transferred to a brainwashing centre.
Ms. Han Yuheng is being detained at the East Ward 1-15, Detention Centre of Haidian District Police Station, 25 Longgang Road, Qinghe Town, Haidian District, Beijing.
