Mr. Cai Youwang is a taxi driver who does not practise Falun Gong. On May 22nd, 2008, several Falun Gong practitioners hired him to drive them to three villages, including Taoxinzhuang and Dingzhuang, in Shangzhuang Township, Qian'an City, Hebei Province. The practitioners were there to distribute leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. They were subsequently arrested by the police. Mr. Cai Youwang was also arrested and had his vehicle impounded. Currently his vehicle is still being held at the Shangzhuang Township Police Substation of Qian'an City.

After arresting Mr. Cai Youwang, the police used all kinds of methods to torture him. They whipped him with a belt and interrogated him while employing physical abuse. Mr. Cai Youwang is still being detained at the Qian'an City Detention Centre. For many days, people have seen his younger son crying at the door of the police station. His mother, who is a practitioner, was also arrested by the police at a different time.

Mr Cai is an honest and kind man, who is not a practitioner of Falun Gong. One day, Mr. Cai and I were shipping bricks. When the client gave him 100 yuan1 extra, he returned the money right away. Once when he shipped bricks to a client, he was paid 200 yuan in counterfeit money. Mr. Cai burned the money right away. I asked him, "Didn't you lose your money that way?" He said, "Even though other people deceived me, I shouldn't use the fake money to deceive others." He also once returned 5,000 yuan that someone had left in his taxi. He tracked the owner down and refused a reward that was offered to him.

Despite his reputation for honesty and integrity, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has arrested this good man and torn apart his family, only because of his association with Falun Gong.
