The Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in Heizuizi Women's Forced Labour Camp in Changchun City, Jilin Province

Innocent practitioners continue to be detained in the Changchun Heizuizi Women's Forced Labour Camp. Selected details:

1. Ms. Rong Chunling, 55 years old, is from the Quanan suburb of Songyuan City. She was detained in Heizuizi Women's Forced Labour Camp. Her release date was the end of May 2008. Instead of regaining her freedom, she was detained in a detention centre by local police officers without any warrant or reason. Then she was taken to a forced labour camp for an additional one year and nine months. She is forced to do hard labour for around ten hours daily. In December 2008, she had high blood pressure of over 200. On February 13th, 2008, and again one month later, she was in a faint for close to six minutes. The guards claimed that she could not see a doctor because of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) two meetings. Besides, she was forced to work for ten hours daily.

In May 2008, when Ms. Rong Chunling suffered a stroke, the director of Quanan Town, Songyuan City, did not allow her to be released for medical care.

2. Mr. Wang Bing has been detained in Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp since April 20th, 2006. He was not released at the end of his sentence because he refused to to forced labour.

3. Ms. Zhang Yin, who is vision disabled, is from Siping City in Jilin Province. She was employed at the Jilin City bus station. Under existing law, a disabled person is not taken to a forced labour camp. The CCP minions took her to the No. 3 Ward in Heizuizi Labour Camp and forced her to perform hard labour.

4. After guard Jiang was transferred from No. 1 to No. 3 Ward in the Changchun camp, the amount of time practitioners have to do forced labour was extended and holidays and breaks were eliminated. Everyone has to get up 5:20 a.m. and breakfast at 7:15 a.m. Then, they work until 7:15 p.m., with one hour break at noon. It does not matter if they are too tired or sick, they have to work, even the elderly.

5. From February to March 2009, Heizuizi Labour Camp inmates had to eat only dried ice cabbage, carrots, and potatoes or sour cabbage for dinner.

6. Based on existing law, food for inmates at the forced labour camp must meet National Industry standards. For those who do not perform forced labour, the food must be at local people's standard.

Based on forced labour camp regulations, visitors may bring any type of nutritious food. But, since January 2009, it is forbidden to bring sausage or fried fish in sealed containers. Since March, no salted vegetables may be brought into the camp.
