Ms. Tang Xingrong from Miyi County, Sichuan Province has been sentenced to a five-year imprisonment by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) personnel from the local police station, the Procuratorate, and the court. She was arrested and taken to the Longquanyi Women's Prison in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province on March 1st, 2009.
Ms. Tang Xingrong, 39, lived in the Xianjia Village, Panlian Township, Miyi County. On the evening of June 31st, 2008, officers from the Miyi County Police Department, the National Security Division and the Panlian Township Police Station, as well as officials from the Panlian Township Government and Xianjia Village broke into Ms. Tang's home. They confiscated two laptop computers, one printer and some other related items before pushing Ms. Tang into a police car. When Ms. Tang shouted at the top of her voice, "Falun Gong is good!" the wicked police slapped her face.
The police locked up Ms.Tang at the Miyi County Detention Centre. She was also held in a dark den near the Miyi Railway Station, where police officers Zhou Lin and Xu Xin, along with two other officers from the Panzhihua National Security Division handcuffed her, hung her up and then beat her. The evildoers also burned her face with cigarettes.
On November 19th, 2008, the Miyi County Court sentenced Ms. Tang to five years of imprisonment. Ms. Tang appealed.
On January 9th, 2009, the Miyi County Court put Ms. Tang on a re-trial. During the hearing she questioned the judge, "I simply want to cultivate Falun Gong and try to be a good person. What's wrong with that? Yang Zihua, Zhou Lin and Xu Xin beat me after they handcuffed and hung me up. They also used cigarettes to burn my face. Have they not committed crimes?"
The judge could not answer, so the trial, which only lasted about ten minutes, was wrapped up in a hurry. The court sentenced Ms. Tang to five years in prison. On January 15th, the county court conducted a "public trial" at Park Square.
The court did not inform Ms. Tang's family of the above mentioned trials. When her family questioned the court personnel who were involved in the trials, they said they didn't need to do so if the person on trial was a Falun Gong practitioner.
On January 18th or 19th, 2009, prison guards tortured Ms. Tang with the tiger bench1 method and "dead person's bed2," because she refused to wear the prison uniform. On March 1st, 2009, the police took Ms. Tang to the Longquanyi Women's Prison in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province.

Note
1. "Tiger Bench": Prisoners are forced to sit on a small iron bench that is approximately 20 cm (6 inches) tall with their knees tied together. With their hands tied behind their backs or sometimes placed on their knees, they are forced to sit straight up and look straight ahead without movement for long periods of time.
2. "Death Bed" torture: A practitioner is tied to a bed with his hands handcuffed above his head to the bed rails, and his legs tied with thin nylon ropes. The rope is then tightly wrapped around the practitioner's body and the bed, from his legs to his chest. The rope is wrapped so tightly that the practitioner has difficulty breathing and eventually loses consciousness.
