Nine Falun Gong practitioners from Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province have been detained, and four of them are imprisoned outside of Fengcheng City.
On February 9th, 2007, Mr. Zhang Qinggui was arrested by the police from the Donggang City Public Security Bureau and the Dadong Branch of the Public Security Bureau. Two months later, Mr. Zhang was sent to Benxi Forced Labour Camp. In November 2007, the Donggang City Public Security Bureau and Benxi Forced Labour Camp secretly transferred him to the Donggang Detention Centre. On December 25th, 2007, Mr. Zhang was sentenced to six years of imprisonment at Benxi Prison by the Donggang Court. On May 8th, 2008, Mr. Zhang was secretly transferred to the Law Education Centre (a brainwashing centre) in Pingluo Town of Shenyang City.
On November 15th, 2005, Ms. Ma Yuxin was arrested by police from Dabao Police Station. On February 20th, 2006, a Fengcheng City Court judge sentenced Ms. Ma to five years of jail and sent her to the Shenyang City Women's Prison.
On July 3rd, 2006, Fengcheng police arrested Ms. Liu Yingmei. A Fengcheng Court judge sentenced her to three and a half years. Ms. Liu is now detained at Shenyang Women's Prison.
Ms. Wang Chunzhen is from Hongqi Town of Fengcheng City. On November 15th, 2008, police from Hongqi Police Station arrested her and sent her to the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp in Shenyang to serve a one year term.
On the afternoon of March 23rd, 2008, police from the Domestic Security Division of Fengcheng City arrested practitioners Wang Shuqing and He Ping from Wang's home. The police also confiscated a computer and a printer. The authorities first sentenced Wang Shuqing to one year of forced labour. However, the Fengcheng 610 Office1 and the Politics and Judiciary Committee collaborated to increase Wang's sentence. On December 24th, 2008, Fengcheng Court sentenced Wang Shuqing to three years of imprisonment at Fengcheng Detention Centre. Practitioner He Ping was sentenced to one year and is also detained at Fengcheng Detention Centre.
On November 15th, 2008, police from Hongqi Police Station arrested Ms. Liu Yinfeng and Ms. Leng Dongmei from Hongqi Town, Fengcheng City. Ms. Liu was sent to Dandong Detention Centre. Fengcheng Court sentenced Ms. Liu to three years and sent her to Fengcheng Detention Centre. Ms. Leng Dongmei was sent to Donggang Detention Centre. There, she went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. A tumour was detected on her leg during a medical examination, but she was still sentenced to four years at the Fengcheng Detention Centre. Since being sent to the detention centre, Ms. Leng's serious asthma has recurred.
On March 9th, 2009, staff from the Domestic Security Division of the Fengcheng City Public Security Bureau arrested practitioner Liang Yuncheng. Liang was sentenced to two years of forced labor at the Fengcheng Detention House. There, Liang Yuncheng was severely tortured. The police later transferred Liang Yuncheng to the Fengcheng Detention Centre. On April 14th, 2009, Liang Yuncheng was sent to Fushun Brainwashing Centre and persecuted until Liang's eyesight diminished to only 0.2. Liang Yuncheng has been sent back to Fengcheng Detention Centre.
