On July 19th, practitioners in Manitoba Province and supporters of Falun Gong held a candlelight vigil in front of the Legislative Building in Winnipeg to mark the 10th anniversary of the persecution in China and commemorate Chinese practitioners persecuted to death by the Communist regime.
At the rally site, renowned human rights lawyer David Matas elaborated on the deeper cause of the persecution and discussed why the Chinese Communist regime had no way to defeat Falun Gong. City councilor Jenny Gerbasi also voiced her concerns about the persecution. Practitioner Winston Liu gave his personal account of the persecution in China.
At the end of the vigil, amid solemn flute music played by a practitioner, a moment of silence was called to honor practitioners who have died in the persecution.
