The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) birth control policy wrecked Ms. Fu Ying's health. After practising Falun Gong, her illness disappeared. When the CCP started the persecution, she was forced into a miserable situation.

Health Renewed after Practising Falun Gong

Ms. Fu Ying, 56 years old, is a resident of Shenling Village, Shaguo Township, Fuping County, Hebei Province. In 1983, under the CCP's birth control policy, Ms. Fu was forced to undergo a sterilization procedure at the age of 30. She was put into a temporary operating room under a questionable doctor. After she was cut open, the doctor was unable to find the oviduct and moved several organs around haphazardly to search for it. The operation started in the morning and continued until midnight. The operation brought her many side effects. Her bladder and uterus were damaged, and she suffered from nerve damage in her left leg. Ms. Fu was a healthy, young and energetic woman who was a mainstay of the farm and housework. In one day she became unable to walk normally or do any housework. She became bedridden and unable to even turn on the bed. She had to take medicine everyday and have frequent injections. After a couple of years, she had to borrow money from her relatives for her medical treatments.

In 1998, when Ms. Fu heard that practising Falun Gong did not cost money but could improve health, she started to learn the exercises. When she was learning, she felt her body become light and relaxed. After practising for 20 days, she felt a dramatic change. After a bit over a month, all her illnesses were gone. She could walk and her feet no longer hurt. Her stomach-ache was gone and her back became straight. She was once again a healthy person. She started to cook, do housework and work on the farm. After three months, she was again able to work in the fields. When the dam was under construction at her village, she carried rocks just like the others. All of the villagers saw her changes and witnessed Falun Gong's miracle. Many of them started practising Falun Gong, as well.

Suffering the CCP's Persecution

As Ms. Fu was enjoying her new life, on April 25th, 1999, officials from the Fuping County Police Department, Zhou Qiulai, Ma Baozhong and a few police officers came to Shenling Village. They registered all the Falun Gong practitioners and told them that this was a good practice and to keep practising.

However, on July 20th, 1999, Ma Baozhong and another official Ma Yongjun and several police officers broke into Ms. Fu's home. The police ransacked the home and confiscated all of her Falun Gong books. They told her that nobody was allowed to practise Falun Gong anymore, and anyone practising would be arrested.

On August 13th, 2002, during the busy harvest season, Zhou Qiulai and Ma Baozhong led several police officers to break into Ms. Fu's home. They ransacked it and then arrested her as she was working in the fields. After 11 days of detention, the police extorted 2000 yuan1 from her family. Ms. Fu was sent to a brainwashing facility for 5 more days before she was released. Her mother was bedridden when the police broke into her home. She was very frightened and her illness became worse. She passed away shortly afterwards.

One evening in June 2004, officers from the Shaguo Township Police Station ransacked her home again and took her to the police station for interrogation. When she was about to be sent to the detention centre, one of the leaders at her village committee said a few words to the police, "She was in poor health but became healthy after practising Falun Gong. You guys keep arresting her. What is this all about?" Their words saved her from detention.

In November 2005, Zhang Jinhui, the chief of the Fuping County Police Department State Security Division, and police from the Shaguo Township Police Station attempted to arrest her again but failed. Ms. Fu was forced to leave home to avoid further persecution.

Prior to the start of the 2008 Olympics, officers from the Shaguo Township Police Station ransacked her home again. They also came to harass her family several times. They didn't stop until her son bought them dinner in a restaurant.

Practising Falun Gong helped Ms. Fu to become pain free and renew her life, but the CCP has repeatedly persecuted her during the past few years. Are they really the "people's public servants" or the "government for the people" as they claim?
