To commemorate ten years of persecution against Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), Irish practitioners held a march and other activities in Dublin on the 18th, 19th and 20th of July. In memory of the Falun Gong practitioners who have been killed in the persecution, they called on the Irish government and people from all walks of life to see through the CCP’s evil nature, and join the rising worldwide voice to stop the persecution.

Falun Gong practitioners expressed that during the last ten years, the persecution by the CCP against those who believe in Truth, Compassion, Tolerance is a persecution against all Chinese people, and is a persecution of the basic values of all of humanity. The CCP suppresses justice, blocks the real facts, kills those who are righteous, and has distorted Chinese people’s values of good and evil.

On the tenth anniversary of opposing the persecution on “July 20th”, Falun Gong practitioners from Ireland held a rally demonstration, calling for an end to the persecution

Exposing the CCP’s crime of live harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners organs

On 20th July, the Irish Falun Dafa Association held a press conference. Many human rights activists came to give support. Patricia McKenna who was previously a member of the European Parliament and a human rights activist, said in her speech that the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong is still continuing and is getting worse. Facts have already clearly proven: Falun Gong practitioners organs are harvested live for money by the CCP. These acts are an attack on the international community, and Western businesses have become blind during the CCP’s persecution of human rights, placing economic interests first. Ms McKenna said history will soon testify that remaining silent in front of the CCP’s violation of human rights is the same as taking part in the persecution. She called on Ireland’s minister of foreign affairs, Prime Minister, ministers at all levels, and the European Union to stop the CCP’s persecution of human rights, especially its persecution of Falun Gong.

Mr Aodhan O Riordai, of the Labour party of the Dublin assembly, expressed that the use of every opportunity by politicians to say “no” to the CCP’s persecution of human rights is extremely powerful. For example, last year the CCP wanted to establish Beijing and Dublin as sister cities, and in the process earn the Western society’s acceptance of the dictatorship. Mr O Riodai said that there are many Chinese people living in Dublin, and Irish people are very happy to help them and maintain friendly trade contacts with China, but if Dublin and Beijing become sister cities, that would signify that Dublin pays no heed to the CCP’s persecution of human rights. So the CCP’s plan was rejected by the Dublin City Assembly. Mr O Riordai said he would like to send a clear message to the CCP: we will not support the CCP’s persecution of human rights, especially the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

Mr Pat Crimmins, a member of the Dublin Assembly, expressed that he has really admired the Falun Gong practitioners’ peaceful opposition of the persecution for ten years, and that the Eastern European communist regime has already dissolved. He believes with the dissolving of the Chinese communist dictatorship and people acquiring the freedom of democracy will not be too far away.

On the afternoon of July 18th, the Irish Falun Dafa association, “Quit the CCP Centre” and several other groups held a rally in Grafton street. The marchers held up banners saying “Falun Dafa is good”, “Falun Dafa spreads throughout the world, a hundred million people benefit in body in mind”, “Dissolve the CCP, stop the persecution”, “Giving support to the 50 million brave people who have quit the CCP” and “The CCP is not China”. A float featuring a mock demonstration of the CCP’s harvesting of internal organs from healthy, living Falun Gong practitioners, shocked pedestrians and made them want to find out more and take pictures of the event. Some showed their support to the marchers by whistling or applauding.

A spokesperson for the Irish Falun Dafa Association said that on July 20th 1999, the then leader of the CCP and some other leaders of the group of CCP political hooligans, utilising the entire state power and national resources, using the most ruthless, low-down, and venomous means to carry out a systematic persecution of Falun Gong. The CCP leader issued the commands: “If you beat them to death it will be counted as suicide” and “Don’t do an autopsy, just directly cremate them”. An extremely large number of Falun Gong practitioners' organs have been stolen while they were alive for quick profits.

According to a publication on Minghui.org, to this day there have been at least 3,200 people killed, and 6,000 have been illegally sentenced, while 100,000 have been illegally sent to labour camps. Over 10,000 Falun Gong practitioners have been forcefully sent to mental hospitals and have been the victims of the devastation of their central nervous system by drugs. They have been kidnapped to “brainwashing centres” where they suffered mental torture. An enormous amount of practitioners have been beaten up by so called “law enforcement officers” and faced economic blackmail.

The Falun Gong Association representative said, because of the CCP’s blockade of information, this is just the tip of the iceberg. “Falun Gong practitioners’ ten years of peaceful opposition against the persecution is not only to defend their own beliefs, but is also guarding mankind’s moral baseline and future.”

A Falun Gong practitioner called Zhao Ming told how he was illegally sent to a labour camp when he went back to mainland China in 2000 to appeal to the government. He was hit with an electric baton, not allowed to sleep for long periods and suffered other such tortures, but because of the help of many upright people of justice and the Irish government, he returned to a free country.

Ms Ye of the Ireland “Quit the CCP Centre” expressed during her speech that in the year 2004 Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party was published, which brought on the big wave of people quitting the CCP and its related organisations. Today over 60 million Chinese people have already quit; this is the Chinese people peacefully disintegrating the CCP after waking up, choosing to gain freedom and a new life. More and more people are seeing through the CCP’s nature and casting aside the illusion of looking forward to the CCP’s so called improvement. In the mainland, the fight against tyranny among the people is already going with enthusiastic strength, and they are looking forward to a future with the tyrannical CCP.
