Falun Dafa practitioners of Sydney were invited again to participate in the Bowral Tulip Time Street Parade on September 26th, 2009. The Bowral Tulip Festival is one of Australia's oldest and most beautiful flora festivals, held each spring in the beautiful Southern Highlands town of Bowral.
The highlights of the festival are the Corbett Gardens, which has over 100,000 tulips and 25,000 annuals planted specially for the festival, and the Tulip Time Street Parade along Bong Bong Street, the main street of Bowral. For the past 6 years, Falun Dafa practitioners have joined the parade, contributing to the colourful festival as well as letting thousands of locals and tourists know more about Falun Dafa.
This year the Waist Drum Team dressed in traditional golden costumes was led by a colourful banner that read "Falun Dafa - Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" and a beautiful pink Lotus flower. The crowd applauded and cheered as the Falun Dafa group passed by.
After the parade, the event organisers arranged for Falun Dafa practitioners to demonstrate five sets of exercises in front of the Corbett Gardens. The local practitioners also have a regular exercise practice site at the Rotunda in the garden.
