Guangdong Province Police Sawed Through the Locks to Arrest Ms. Liang Shaolin in Her Home

Police nabbed Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liang Shaolin from Maoming, Guangdong Province and took her to the Maoming Brainwashing Centre. Ms. Liang Shaolin was previously held at the labour camp and brainwashing centre nearly six years for her practising Falun Gong.

The latest incident happened around 10:00 am on September 24th, 2009, when ten police officers, including Luo Ji and Li Weisong from the Maoxi District Police Department in Maoming City tried to break into Liang Shaolin's residence while she and her parents were there. They resisted the police agents' conduct and refused to open the door. Another five officers arrived and they tried to saw the lock, using an electric saw to saw through the double doors.

Liang Shaolin opened the windows and shouted, "Falun Gong is good." The police succeeded in breaking the locks on the double doors at 4:00 pm, broke into the home and arrested her and ransacked the place. They confiscated cash, a computer, a printer and even took her mother's mobile phone and her younger sister's bank deposit book.

Ms. Liang Shaolin, 58 years old, is a retired engineer from Maoming General Petrochemical Corp. Since she began practising Falun Gong, her mind and body were purified. She was also voluntarily in charge of the Hexi Falun Gong Assistant Centre in Maoming City. She was named model employee and received yearly commendations at every workplace she worked.

After the evil communist regime began the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, Ms. Liang went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, but police detained her on her way. She was released after seven days of a hunger strike. Not long after, she once again captured and was subjected to two years of forced labour and held at the Sanshui Forced Labour Camp in Guangdong.

While at the labour camp, she was once locked in a dark room for 15 days and subjected to insect bites; she was forced to squat for long periods - more than ten hours every day. In March 2002, inmates once beat her severely under instructions from No. 3 Division leaders Gao and Wu. The thugs also forced her to watch slanderous videos to brainwash her. She resisted with a hunger strike, and the guards had to give up in the end.

Following her incarceration at the Sanshui Labour Camp, Liang Shaolin was taken to the Maoming Brainwashing Centre where Zhang Chongyun, Shen Didi, Wu Wenqiong and others who were reformed tortured her brutally. Ms. Liang insisted on practising Falun Gong, so the guards often handcuffed her to the window bars or locked her in a dark room in the intense heat of summer, with all the windows boarded up. Ms. Liang refused to accept the fabricated accusations and never caved in under persecution.

Officials eventually returned her to the Sanshui Forced Labour Camp, moving her back and forth between the two facilities in Maoming and Sanshui many times. This way, the original two years of forced labour was extended to nearly six years.

In the face of the detention and persecution, Ms. Liang maintained her firm faith all along and finally walked out of the forced labour camp on March 31st, 2005. Her husband was forced to divorce her while she was incarcerated, and she was dismissed from her job.

Following Ms. Liang's latest capture, her parents, both in their 80s, and her younger sister requested to visit her, but the brainwashing centre officials refused their request without a valid reason.

It is said that right now even when her elderly parents go out, plainclothes officers follow them. They have lost all personal freedom.
