Ms. Shi Jinling is a teacher in Xingwangzhai Town, Zunhua, Hebei Province. In the past years, she has been persecuted by the school officials and her superiors. Xiao Yongliang, the principal, forced Ms. Shi's husband, Li Jun, a teacher from the Education Office in Xingwangzhai Town, to put his wife under house arrest in October 2007. Li Jun almost choked Ms. Shi to death on June 12th, 2009, and she is currently still under house arrest.
Ms. Shi is 47 years old. Since she started practising Falun Gong, she has improved greatly both physically and mentally and her diseases disappeared. She has had great accomplishments at work, because she always followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Her students love her, and the parents and her co-workers respect her. But since the persecution against Falun Gong started on July 20th, 1999, this outstanding teacher has been arrested three times. She was persecuted at the Zunhua City brainwashing centre and the detention centre.
Ms. Xu Shuqin, a teacher from Xingwangzhai Town, went to distribute informational materials about Falun Gong and the persecution and was arrested and taken to the Zunhua City Detention Centre by people from the Zunhua City Domestic Security Team on October 1st, 2007. She was sentenced to four years of imprisonment and is currently detained in the Shijiazhuang City Women's Prison. Due to the Chinese Communist Party's "Guilt by Association" policy, Principal Xiao Yongliang was criticised because of this. In order to keep his authority and position, he forced Li Jun (Ms. Shi Jinling's husband) to put Ms. Shi under house arrest. While at school, Ms. Shi was monitored by Pang Yanhua. Every day, Ms. Shi was dropped off and picked up. They did not allow her to ride her own bike. If Ms. Shi refused to follow his orders, Li Jun beat, kicked, and yelled at her. Li Jun almost choked her to death on June 12th, 2009. He tore her new pants into pieces. Ms. Shi is still under house arrest.
Prior to that, Ms. Shi was arrested three times and coerced to be brainwashed. A great deal of money was extorted from her, too. With the excuse of tracing a tape, on December 30th, 1999, perpetrators from the Shirengou Police Station in Zunhua detained Ms. Shi for two days and extorted 2000 yuan1 from her. (Later, her family asked for the money back).
Ms. Shi went to distribute informational materials about Falun Gong on the afternoon of January 16th, 2002, in the Yiyuan Residential Area of Zunhua. Officer Zhang Aimin from the Xisanli Town Police Station arrested her and took her to the Zunhua Police Department. That same night, she was transferred to the city detention centre. After seven days, she was sent to the Zunhua City Brainwashing Centre. After being detained there for one month, she was released after having 2000 yuan in "general fees" and 630 yuan in "meal fees" extorted from her. After she returned to school, the perpetrators from the Xingwangzhai township office withheld two months of her salary, around 2000 yuan.
Perpetrators from the Zunhua City 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) did a so-called "investigation" in June 2004. They tried to coerce Ms. Shi to sign a guarantee statement to slander Falun Gong, but she refused. Li Jun deceived his wife into going to the Education Office of Xingwangzhai Town on August 4th. He said there were orders from up above that during the summer break, she needed to go to the brainwashing centre to "study." Principal Huang Xiaoming and accountant Li Jun pulled Ms. Shi into a car and took her to the Zunhua City Brainwashing Centre. She was locked in a small cell with iron bars and no sunlight. She was bitten by mosquitoes and bugs and suffered from huge mental stress. Although she was only in her early 40s, her black hair turned grey. She was not released until 50 days later and after having 1000 yuan extorted from her.
