On the morning of December 8th, 2009, staff from the Domestic Security Division of the Linqu County Police Department, and the Yeyuan Town Police Station head broke into Ms. Zhang Chengmei's home and arrested her. They confiscated Falun Gong books and materials and stole the key to her home. In the afternoon, they ransacked her home again, this time confiscating money found in her drawer. Ms. Zhang was detained at the County Detention Centre, sentenced to forced labour before New Year's Day, and taken to the Wangcun Forced Labour Camp. She died around February 3rd, 2010.

Ms. Zhang's body was forcibly cremated under police control. Her family is suffering in deep sorrow and are reluctant to talk about her death. The cause of her death and how she was mistreated are under investigation.
