On August 2nd, 2007, Mr. Jiang Zonglin was arrested at his home by police officers from the Jinniu First Section and Fuqin Police Station. Mr. Jiang was taken to Jinniu and Xinlv Brainwashing Centre in Chengdu, and detained for nearly three months. During his detention, Mr. Jiang was subjected to interrogation by torture. In September and October 2008, Wuhou Court held trial on Mr. Jiang, and later sentenced him to five years of imprisonment.

In April 2009, Mr. Jiang was taken to Deyang Prison. Recently, prison officials notified Mr. Jiang's family that he was hospitalized in the Shuangliu Police Officers General Hospital of Chengdu City, but refused to reveal further details.

The Police Officers General Hospital of Chengdu City is also known as a prison utilized for patients who are inmates. Prisoners taken to this hospital are usually severely ill, or need emergency treatments.
