Canada: Divine Land Marching Band Performs in St. Patrick's Day Parade in Ottawa

On March 13th, 2010, the Ottawa chapter of the Divine Land Marching Band, a band consisting of Falun Gong practitioners, performed at the annual St. Patrick's Day parade in Ottawa, Canada. More than 10 thousand people watched it.

According to the organizer, Brian Baly, the chair of Irish Society Communications, 55 groups with a total of some 500 participants took part in the parade, Among the 5 marching bands, the Divine Land Marching Band with 100 Falun Gong practitioners from Ottawa and Montreal was the largest.

The parade started at 11 and went along Laurier Ave. and Bank St. and ended at Lansdowne Park. The Divine Land Marching Band performed five songs during the parade. Some people in the audience remembered the band from past years and many highly praised their performance.

The St. Patrick's Day parade in Ottawa started in 1952. This was its 58th year.
