The Persecution I Suffered at the Hands of Police from Yongchang County Police Department

I am a Falun Dafa practitioner, 63 years old. I began practicing in 1996. Since July 20th, 1999, the Jiang political regime has been slandering Dafa and Teacher Li, and also persecuting Dafa practitioners. They arrested practitioners at will, illegally detained them, held them indefinitely, and sentenced them to forced labour camps. However, under whatever pressure and persecution they tried, I firmly continued practicing Dafa. I have been illegally detained three times by the criminal police and was forced to undergo brainwashing classes, but I did not change my beliefs. In the Chinese New Year of 2000, the police forced me to spend the New Year in jail. They dismissed me from the Party, stopped my pension, relentlessly hunted me, and extensively searched my home. In the detention centre, I was cursed and beaten by vicious guards and common criminals. My personal property was illegally confiscated.

In January 2000, I was illegally put in jail by the Yongchang Police Department and was held in the No. 4 cell with criminals waiting to be executed. I suffered from inhumane treatment by the criminal guards and torture from the leader of the common criminals. When the vicious guards tried to force me to curse Teacher Li I kept quiet, so they punished me by making me do push-ups. When I could not do anymore, they forced me to lie on my stomach on the ice-cold concrete floor in winter to receive physical punishment. My hands and feet were frozen and swollen, and one layer of skin was lost from my fingers and palms. The ruthless guards kicked me in the chin.

Yongchang County Police Department, the administration authorities of the party and political organizations forcefully paraded me in public through the streets of Yongchang County Jiaojia area. In an open public trial with a thousand attendants in Hetan Village, they used all kinds of shameless methods to deceive people who did not know the truth about Falun Gong.

On December 1, 2000, I was once again illegally arrested and sent to a detention centre. They first told me that I would be detained for 15 days, but then said they would hold a workshop. In the detention centre, the guards forced us to do physical exercise, half standing stance exercise, push-up exercises and goose step walking each day. They used vicious means to punish Dafa practitioners. They also asked people from the party administration bureau, prosecution and law enforcement bureaus, women's association and other work units to carry out the "transformation" of Dafa practitioners every day.

This time, the ruffians illegally put 13 Dafa practitioners into the detention centre and tried to force practitioners to write guarantees to give up practicing Dafa, all against our will. All of us stayed firm. After 130 days' confinement, they sent seven practitioners to a forced labour camp. We not only had to pay for the expensive meals, the guards also extorted money and personal property from us. Not only did the guards insult practitioners, the drug users and thieves also beat and swore at us. An 80-year old practitioner was handcuffed and forced to stand still facing a wall. In the cold winter, they put us in a large room to suffer the cold. They used these same methods to torture the disabled.

On September 3, 2001, I went to a relative's family for a visit. When the Yongchang police heard about this they once again sent me to a detention centre. On the same day, a wicked policeman, Gao Jiang, viciously tortured me with punches and kicks. Without any legal procedure, they detained me for 20 days before releasing me. During the repeated illegal detentions, I suffered serious physical and mental torture and significant financial losses.

These vicious policemen, Liu Haifu and Li Guoyu from Yongchang County Police Department, directed all of the above persecutions. They repeatedly illegally searched my home, took away my hard-earned property, including 2 tape recorders, 1 VCR player and many precious Dafa books, which cost 3,000 Yuan in total [the average monthly income in rural China is about 200 Yuan]. They illegally withheld my pension and deducted 6,000 Yuan. Their excuse was that 3,000 Yuan was for my spouse's going to appeal for Dafa and the other 3,000 Yuan was for the appeal of Sun Yuquan from Nanquan area. Their effort to try to force me to give up cultivation (the term "cultivation" refers to the cultivation of ones moral character guided by truthfulness-compassion-forbearance) by cutting off my income was in vain. During this period, some wicked people in Yongchang County resorted to all kinds of methods to dissuade me from following Dafa, even "inviting" me to the jail to spend the Chinese New Year for two years consecutively.

My spouse also firmly decided to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa, to clarify the truth to people from all walks of life in the capital, exposing the evil deeds and reporting the truth of the persecution against Dafa practitioners by the vicious groups in Yongchang County. The wicked police cruelly tortured my spouse, and then illegally sentenced him to one and a half years forced labour. All the vicious crimes they have committed will certainly be condemned by history, and the perpetrators will receive their due retribution in the end.
