Mr. Geng Huaipu of Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province, Sentenced

Mr. Geng Huaipu, a Falun Gong practitioner in Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province, was arrested on April 3rd, 2009, in Tongling City, Anhui Province, by over a dozen officials and police officers, including the Tongling Police Station head Song Changhu; Tongguanshan District secretary of Tongling City Lu Dong; National Security Brigade head for Tongling Police Station Liu Ping; Wu Jun, who worked for Song Changhu; police officers Wang and Ding; and others. Mr. Geng was taken to Tongguanshan District Police Station that night, and the police suspended him from the window bars by his handcuffs overnight. The next day, officers Wang and Ding transferred him to Tongling City Detention Centre. He was detained there for two months.

After being detained for two months, Xuzhou City police in Jiangsu Province returned Mr. Geng to the local area, and he was sentenced to three years in prison. He is now in Hongzehu Prison in Jiangsu Province. His elder brother, Geng Huaihao; his mother; and his sister-in-law, Shi Zhonglin, have all been persecuted to death by the authorities.

Geng Huaipu had previously been persecuted twice in forced labour camps, once for two years and the second time for three years. Local authorities also held him in the Xuzhou Brainwashing Centre for one year and eight months.
