Mr. Ji Liewu Is Imprisoned For Twelve Years, His Mother Dies From a Broken Heart

On April 26th, 2010, Mr. Ji Liewu's 85 year old mother died from a broken heart. In his hometown Mr. Ji Liewu is well known for his talents, and had been an active participant of the Falun Gong Research Association in Beijing since its early years. His parents loved him very much. However, on December 26th, 1999, he was sentenced to twelve years in prison. His parents tried so many times to visit him, but were never allowed. His father died three years ago, with the regret over never having been able to visit his youngest son. His mother, missed her son even more. Mr. Ji's relatives could not bear to see her like that, and told the village officials, "What is wrong with practising Falun Gong? Who else are good people in this society? It is inhuman not to let her see her son!" The village officials had no reply.

On April 28th, 2010, after his mother's death, Mr. Ji was allowed to return home to attend her funeral. However, the village was sealed off, and armed police surrounded the memorial hall. Mr Ji was handcuffed with two police officers accompanying all the time, and someone video recorded the whole proceedings. No one was allowed within ten yards of Mr Ji. His mother was placed in a coffin. Mr. Ji walked up to the coffin, opened it, took a look at his mother's body, then was escorted back to prison by the police officers. The whole process took less than 30 minutes.

Mr. Ji's relatives told people, that if he said he would stop cultivating, he would have been released a long time ago. But Mr Ji absolutely refused. He said Truth-Compassion-Forbearance is not wrong, Falun Gong has no faults. The villagers commented on how the police had handcuffed him during his short stay, "Can't they let him be free for even such a short time?"

Beijing Qianjin Prison detains male Falun Gong practitioners. It is located in Chadian Town, Hangu District, Tianjin City, but affiliated under Qinghe Division of Beijing City Prison Administration.
