Mr. Song Yusheng, 59, Near Death Due to Persecution Suffered at Zhangqiu Forced Labour Camp

Mr. Song Yusheng was sent to the No. 2 Men's Forced Labour Camp in Guanzhuang, Zhangqiu City, on January 15th, 2010. He was detained in the No. 7 brigade. As a result of being ill-treated in the labour camp, he suffered from hypertension, coronary disease, cholecystitis, and a liver-kidney syndrome. In addition, his complexion is yellowish-white; he has difficulty walking; he has no energy to talk; and his hands shake uncontrollably. Still, the forced labour camp refuses to release him.

When Mr. Song's family went to explain his situation to the Tianheng Police Station, political director Wu Shijun said, "We are only responsible for sending him there. If something goes wrong, it's not our problem. You need to go to the labour camp to ask for his release." Then he tried to get rid of the family.

Mr. Song was arrested only because he talked to people about Falun Gong in Tianheng Village on January 1st, 2010. Those involved in his arrest were: Wang Changliang, director of the Comprehensive Administration Office; Wu Shijun, political director of Tianheng Police Station; and Li Jingling, officer from Huanglongzhuang Police Station. During his arrest, Mr. Song was dragged and beaten by several police officers. He was then taken to Jimo Detention Centre before being transferred to the forced labour camp. On the way to the No. 2 Men's Forced Labour Camp, the police handcuffed him behind his back so tightly during the five to six-hour journey that he was in extreme pain and couldn't walk afterwards.

Mr. Song used to suffer from Hepatitis B before he started practising Falun Gong. His complexion was like wax paper and he didn't have any strength. After doctors at a hospital declared that there was no cure for him, he was introduced to Falun Gong. He started practising it and strictly followed the standard of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. As a result, within a month, blood tests showed that his Hepatitis B had disappeared.
